Love for Beginners
I wrote this book in the early days of quarantining for COVID. My house had swelled to hold all nine of my immediate family. Remember those days? The logistics of feeding that many people three meals a day, plus keeping enough toilet paper in the house was a huge challenge. BUT . . . while I anticipated it being a really hard time, it somehow turned into the opposite. We hung out together as a family for the first time in years. We played games and cards until late in the night. We reconnected. Looking back, as hard as the times were (and they WERE hard, some of us lost jobs and other things, I don’t want to minimize that) ... but it was also one of my favorite times as a family. So ... to family, both blood and the kind you make.
