Now we’re cooking…

So my favorite go to recipe is VERY complicated. Step one, open crockpot. Step two, toss in boneless chicken breasts. Step three, pour in a jar of salsa. Step four, turn crockpot on low, cover, and go away. Step five, come back in eight hours, shred the chicken and use for nachos, burritos or quesidillas and EAT.

But my family tends to balk if I do that every night.

So this is where you can save me. Share your fast, easy, delicious recipes? My family thanks you from the bottom of their hungry hearts. 😛

  1. 1 chuck roast – put in fry pan for about 3 minutes per side
    Put in crock pot
Add 1 dry onion soap mix
    1 dry ranch
    1 stick of butter
    8 pepperoncini peppers
    cook on low 8 hours.

  2. Chicken Pit Roast
3 to 4 lbs. Boneless, skinless chicken thighs.
Pappy’s seasoning or your favorite seasoning.
Lay out a large piece of parchment paper. Put chicken in the middle of the paper and season well on both sides. Roll it up so it is completely sealed. Lay out a large sheet of aluminum foil. Put parchment paper wrapped chicken in the middle of the foil and seal the same way. Place in a baking dish and bake at 250° for 6 hours. Serve with favorite side dishes. This is a big favorite around my house. You can also do the same with cut up pork or beef, but they need to be cooked for 8 hours.
    Happy cooking Jill. 😀

  3. Mock Boiled Dinner
Put whole Kielbasa sausage link in a skillet with water to cover simmer for about 5 minutes, remove sausage to platter.
Add halved or quartered potatoes, sliced carrots, cut up turnips or parsnips and cook till almost tender with cover not quite closed all the way to let steam out. Season as desired.
    Add back sausage link.
Add wedges of cabbage cover the same and cook till tender.

  4. Pasta (bow tie)
    Frozen stir fry vegetables
    Italian sausage or chicken breast
    Pesto sauce (fresh or canned)
    Parmesan cheese
Start your pasta. While your pasta is cooking stir fry your vegetables, set aside. Next cook your meat (I like sausage better than chicken because the chicken flavor gets lost in the pesto).
When your pasta is done drain it and mix in the meat, vegetables, and pesto. Top with cheese and you are done.

  5. Easiest recipe ever. Not a crock pot recipe. Take a large frozen sirloin steak. Throw an envelope of onion soup mix on top. Double wrap in aluminium foil. Put in oven on low heat (200 deg) for the afternoon (4 to 5 hours). Done

  6. 6 and one half cup fruit salad
Combine 1 cup each :diced apple, drained mandarin orange, pineapple chunks, red grapes(halved) mini-marshmallows, sour cream and 1/2 cup coconut. Refrigerate and enjoy.Easy peasy.

  7. Same method: chicken breasts, container of Kraft Garlic BBQ sauce, can or two of chicken broth (depending on the amount of chicken used). Awesome over rice, on a bun, or even mashed potatoes. And thank you for the recipe!

  8. Tuna-Rice Souffle-Casserole

    1 cup cooked rice
1 15 ounce can diced tomatoes, drained
2 small cans of tuna in water, drained
Shredded cheese- the more the better!
    2 eggs
    Ginger, basil, and chives

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Stir the ingredients together well, then pour into a greased 9×9 baking dish. Bake for about 30 minutes, and add more time if the dish is too liquid in its consistency.

  9. Crock pot chili…
2 lbs of cooked ground turkey, ground beef or shredded chicken
2 drained cans of beans, I like black beans
    1 chopped onion
    1 chopped pepper…I use a red one
    2-3 stalks chopped celery
    1/2 cup ketchup
    6 tablespoons chili powder
    3 tsp minced garlic

Put all into crockpot on low for 8 hours

  10. Your chicken recipe sounds good. I should use my crock pot more than I do. I will cook a roast with water & Lipton Onion Soup mix that comes out very tender – usually cook it overnight & have it for lunch or dinner.

  11. Brown a diced onion and a pound of ground beef. Add a small can of tomato sauce and salsa to skillet and stir. Add a upf of cooked rice to skillet and stir. Top with cheese, cover and let simmer till ready to eat. Could probably be done in a crock pot.

  12. My favorite recipes is this:

Step 1: Put in 5-8 skinless chicken breasts in a 2-3 quart casserole dish
Step 2: Pour in two cups of rice (not 5 minute rice)
Step 3: Add a can of Cream of Onion, Cream of Celery and Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Chicken soups
Step 4. Add a stick of butter
Pour a Soup Can of Water
Cover and place in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
After 2 hours take the dish out, stir rice and soup, let sit for 5 minutes or so while you set table or whatever, and it is a great and easy meal.
I usually add a green vegetable or salad. People think I slaved over the meal for hours.

    1. Are you saying three cans of soup, overall? Also, are you saying to turn the heat off after 30 minutes of baking? If so, is it two hours after turning off the oven?

  13. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs or a combination. Put into the crock pot. Pour one cup of your favorite barbecue sauce over the meat, put crock pot on low and walk away for 8 hours. Open crockpot. Shred Chicken. Serve barbecue chicken sandwiches on hamburger buns.

  14. Pot Roast
3-4 lbs boneless pot roast (your grocery might call it chuck roast)
Cut into large cubes, season with Lawry’s seasoning
1 bag of little potatoes cut in half
    1 bag of sliced carrots
    1 red onion sliced
    1 red pepper chopped
    1 small can tomato paste
1 14oz can petite diced tomatoes
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes mixed into the can of chopped tomatoes (optional if you like a little heat)

In crock pot add first can of tomato paste then meat. Add remaining ingredients. If you like a lot of seasoning add it all at the top. Cover and cook on high for 5 hours or on low for 8.
The meat just falls apart. My family loves this recipe. I serve with white rice, only cause I love rice. Or just with a salad and crusty bread. Hope you like it.

  17. Crockpot

  18. Once you shredd the chicken, put it back in the crockpot and add a 1/2 cup of Spanish or Mexican rice per person. Depending on the type of salsa you use, you can also add a can of black beans, drained and a cup of frozen corn. You will probably need to add another cup of salsa or water. 23. Missipppi Pot Roast: Crockpot, chuck roast, layer on one packet au jus, one packet ranch, one stick of butter, and surround with as many pepperoncini peppers as you want. Shred that meat up and put it on a bun with a pepper or two on it.

  24. Simple hash – ground burger, fry potatoes (cut into thing slices), combine with onion. Put A1 or ranch on it, it’s awesome!

  25. Saute some chicken tenders/breasts cut into bite-sized pieces. Add chicken to jar of Alfredo sauce and 1/2 can of black olives with juice. Heat and serve over jasmine rice. Adjust recipe according to how many you’re serving. It’s delicious, simple and very quick!

  26. Chicken breasts in crock pot with half a bottle of Italian dressing. Serve over rice.

  27. crock pot
    chuck roast
    stick of butter
