Snow Day

Once in awhile, a day dawns so jaw-droppingly gorgeous that I can’t stop looking out the windows.

It’s really very distracting.

In this weekend’s case, Mother Nature pelted us with some white stuff. I think the gorgeousness is her way of saying sorry that you had to shovel for a few hours.

Which is fine. Because I wasn’t the one shoveling, Alpha Man was.

I went snow shoeing beneath 300 foot tall towering pines laden with heavy snow …

Twice they unloaded on me and made my hair frizzy. Bastards. No, I don’t have a picture of that. It’s too scary. Me and the dogs snowshoed through the yard to the cliff.

Where Frat Boy roused a very unhappy, premenstrual raccoon and then Cali nearly caused an avalanche, so we called it a day and headed home for cookies.

Happy Monday, and don’t forget ABOUT THAT KISS hits tomorrow!

  1. We had rain yesterday & last night…no snow down here in the low lands!!! The pictures are beautiful. If I lived there I would also have to be out enjoying all that white stuff!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have About That Kiss pre-ordered, hope it arrives soon.

  2. It is truly a gorgeous view (and area!) but I think I’d stay in…between the snow dumping and the crazy animals (no, not you, Frat Boy or Cali!), I’d stay at my front door. Stay warm!!

  3. Absolutely gorgeous. I’m glad you enjoy it and I can enjoy it in your pictures without having to deal with it in person myself!!

  4. It’s so pretty where you live. Although we are expecting 4-8″ of snow today here in the Twin Cities of MN, which will make us look pretty too. At least for a little while.

  5. Up here, in Canada, we do get a lot of snow but, unless I drive out to the Laurentians or Eastern Townships, the snow rapidly turns into a greyish / brownish mess in the city. Not so inspiring…And I LOVE winter!!! Most people think I am crazy but…how can I explain it…I feel “happy” breathing in the cold air…walking on the crunchy snow …cocooning with a nice book (one of yours…;) ) and a hot chocolate near the fireplace…Something “homey” about winter that agrees with me. The only missing factor: a hot guy to keep me warm…Oh well, at least I have your books….Have a good day!

  6. It really is beautiful & thank you so much for sharing.

I really enjoy seeing pictures of snow but don’t enjoy living where it does. I have lived in places where it snowed a lot so I have had my fill. Now living in central Texas where we don’t have much.
