  1. I am the widow of a WWII Army paratrooper. I am also the mother of a disabled Marine Corp veteran, a Marine Corp daughter who is now a stay-at-home mom to 5 children and mother-in-law to a son-in-law who is in his 18th year in the Marine Corp. Two of my brothers served in the military and both my husband’s brothers served so I guess you could say that we are a patriotic family. Thank all who gave all.

    • Fannie, that is an impressive military service in your family. Thanks to each & every one of them.

  2. My son is in the Navy. Thank you.

  3. Thank you to all those serving in the military & those that have served. My Dad & most of my uncles served in WWII. They all came home safely except one.

  4. a big thank-you to all that have served and those who are serving now

  7. We visited the Texas Veterans Museum this weekend and it was terrific! It is hard to believe how many items they have displayed. One could go back again and again and not see it all. The lady told me they change the displays every six months.

  8. Great picture.

  9. Since the real heroes of this day can’t say it, I will. You are welcome!

    • I am a veteran, my dad, 4 of my uncles, 2 of my aunts, my brother, my ex-husband, and my grand dad are/were all veterans.

  10. One son is a U.S. Marine, and my other son just joined the U.S. Navy last year. My oldest son was deployed to Iraq four times. My father is a veteran, and I care deeply for all our troops and veterans.

  11. I love seeing how the author pictures their characters. Sometimes I picture someone else.
