Thursday’s Musings

So I found out that I’m a double Rita finalist (think Oscars for romance authors) with IT HAD TO BE YOU and RUMOR HAS IT. So happy and honored…

Shortly after I got the call, the cat yakked on my slippers.

And a snowstorm hit. Well, to be fair to the snowstorm, it hit because Alpha Man took off my snow tires yesterday… the equivalent to washing your car and then having it rain.

But it’s still a damn good day. Especially because Oldest got a new set of foster kitties and they are so sweet I get a cavity looking at them. Two sweet six week old brothers…

Adorbes, right?

  2. Congrats mrs jill, you deserve it!! They are adorable! So awesome and wonderful what ur daughter does. We just had 2 kittens born 2 days ago… My dog’s are so fasntated with them and the mom isn’t even mad when they stick there nose in.

  3. Oh my goodness they are so adorable! I wish I could hold them and cuddle with them. Unfortunately my allergies won’t allow me to enjoy any cuddling for long. I blow up like a balloon and can’t breathe. Can’t stop me from loving those 2 cutie pies.

    • There are several breeds of cats that are hypoallergenic. The main two are the Rex breed. You can contact the CFA website for breeders near you. As for dogs poodles are also hypoallergenic. So if you are interested in a cat or a dog it is possible.

  4. Congrats on your double excitement…double RITA finalist and two of the cutest little kittens. Sorry about the yakking (is that a word?)…sorry anyway.

  5. I am SO happy for you.Better the slippers than your dress shoes. Please keep us posted about the kittens. I can’t imagine what kind of trouble they will get into.

  17. OMG, the cute! Kittens are *so* adorable. Fostering is surely the way to go, to get the adorable wee ones and then pass them on when they’re older! Why didn’t I think of that *before* I had three cats??

  18. Was there any ever doubt you would be a winner?? If I didn’t live 4 time zones away, I’d come right over an take those two kittens, too!

  24. Congratulations on being a “double Rita nominee”. Fantastic. Well deserved. I love your books.

The foster kittens are very cute. I hope oldest finds them a good home or that they get a good home. :-)

  25. Congratulations! Twin nominations is such a wonderful, well-deserved honor. And the “twin” kitties are pretty great, too.

  26. Definitely cavity-inducing. How does Sadie handle them?

  27. Super Congratulations! on being a double RITA finalist. A big honor! Love the kitties. I’m a fan of the black and white ‘tuxedo’ cats. I have two. How wonderful that Oldest fosters pets.

  28. Congrats on your well deserved RITA nominations, Jill!

The kitties are so cute. =^-^= *meow*

  29. Oh! SO ADORABLE!!!!

Also, congratulations on your DOUBLE!! Nomination!! I assuming both books are in the same category so you’ve eliminated 1 competitor this way.

  30. Congratulations!! (Just like a cat to bring you back down to earth like that. ;-) )

The foster fur babies are adorable!! I’m so impressed that people actually manage to foster pets and find them homes somewhere else. I tried once and got 2 more cats out of the deal.

  31. The kittens are so cute!!!

Congrats on your double nomination!!! I’ll be in the crowd cheering for you. :)

  32. Congratulations on having 2 books as Rita finalist. Do you have a preference on which one you would like to win? IT HAD TO BE YOU or RUMOR HAS IT. Hope to see you in San Antonio this summer at the RWA conference for the Literacy signing. Hope to be attending Librarian’s Day.

  33. Congrats on the rita nominations.you so deserve it. Love the adorable kittens I have 2 house catd one is 4 and the ither is around 1. One I rescued after someone dropped it off the ither came from a shelter. I’ve heard of people fostering animals until they can find a hime. Ir cuts back on killing these poor animals but I would be a terrible foster mom because I would fall in love with them and couldn’t give them up then my husband woyld divorce me and I would become that lonely old cat lady! Lol!

  34. Congratulations!!

  35. Infection is the invasion of a host organism’s bodily tissues by disease-causing organisms, their multiplication, and the reaction of host tissues to these organisms and the toxins they produce. Infectious diseases, also known as transmissible diseases or communicable diseases, comprise clinically evident illness (i.e., characteristic medical signs and/or symptoms of disease,http://www.medchemexpress.com) resulting from the infection, presence and growth of pathogenic biological agents in an individual host organism. Infections are caused by infectious agents such as viruses, viroids, and prions, microorganisms such as bacteria, nematodes such as roundworms and pinworms, arthropods such as ticks, mites, fleas, and lice, fungi such as ringworm, and other macroparasites such as tapeworms. Antiviral drugs are a class of medication used specifically for treating viral infections. Like antibiotics for bacteria, specific antivirals are used for specific viruses. Unlike most antibiotics, antiviral drugs do not destroy their target pathogen; instead they inhibit their development. Antiviral drugs are one class of antimicrobials, a larger group which also includes antibiotic (also termed antibacterial), antifungal and antiparasitic drugs. They are relatively harmless to the host, and therefore can be used to treat infections. They should be distinguished from viricides, which are not medication but deactivate or destroy virus particles, either inside or outside the body. Antivirals also can be found in essential oils of some herbs, such as eucalyptus oil and its constituents. http://www.medchemexpress.com
