Me: Are you going to wear that?

Him: All day. Why? What’s wrong with my t-shirt and jeans?

Me: I think we have to dress up for the dinner party thing later.

Him: Okay. (He tucks his t-shirt into his jeans) Ready.

Me: Really?

Him: Wait. (he runs his fingers through his hair). There. NOW I’m ready.

  17. Lisa says:

  18. Les says:

My husband has “Good T-Shirts” for such events. If he has to wear something with a collar or buttons it has to be for a conference, funeral or wedding. Thank God he’s a large animal vet, he can get away with wearing carhearts everyday.

  19. BrendaE says:

Starts young- middle school graduation my DS and his friends felt they were dressed up because they had on collared shirts (polo’s) and athletic shoes instead of flip flops.

  32. Jackie C. says:

Formal is which pattern of camo pants. Upland gamebird, Winter oak or whatever is his formal pattern. He actually thought he could wear that as best man at a wedding. Bride had a thought about that.

    Hahahaha, totally a guy thing!

  41. Judy C says:

Wow sounds like my husband his idea of a nice shirt is a button down skull shirt with flames. I tell him really are you serious. He then will pull out a new Harley Davidson Tshirt with tags on it. Why do I spend my $$ buying him all those nice clothes when we have this conversation all the time. It’s like i”m pulling his teeth. Men

  42. Kathleen O says:

Sounds like some of the guys I know.. I am wondering what my Uncle Bill would think of Jeans and TShirt as dressing up.. He never went anywhere that he was not dressed up in a shirt, tie and suit, and did not wear a pair of jean in his life. He died in the early 80′s. Even my dad who was the same way, wore the odd pair of jeans before he died at 85.

  43. Carol O. says:

    lol!! typical male!!

  44. jan says:

And that is the typical man for you!

 When my younger grandson graduated from 8th grade they were suppose to wear khakis, or the equivelent, & a dress shirt. Oh, he was so funny!!! He did not have those clothes but his other grandma took him shopping to get them. Not all the boys followed the suggested dress! He could not wait to get out of them!!! I’m also not sure why his mom & dad had not already bought the clothes!!! Mostly he wears basketball shorts & various shirts, he is in love with anything Nike!!

  51. Marcy says:

    Men…you gotta love them.

  52. Kelly S says:

I think you shouldn’t have started the conversation with a question. More like, remember tonight is a fancy dinner thing and you will need to change your clothes. I will lay out the clothes on the bed for you to wear and you will need to change into them by 5 pm. Don’t get them dirty.

    or something like that… ;-)

  53. Gary says:

As long as the socks aren’t white and the jeans are tucked over the ‘tenny’s’ he’s good to go — and why aren’t there any men making comments besides me — I love a romance novel — the characters are all true, right???

  54. ajdean says:

If I mention dress up to hubby-if family, the jeans and t-shirt come out, but for something of his, like work, then the polo shirts and dress pants come out.
