Monday’s Musings

March 11, 2013 | Filed under: Stuff

Okay so if you could go on Survivor, Amazing Race or The Voice, which would you pick and why? I have this fantasy about going on The Voice but I can’t sing. At all. I really just want to hug Adam Levine.

I also have a fantasy about going on the Amazing Race but I can’t find my own way out of a paper bag without getting lost. That might be a problem…

And Survivor. Oh, Survivor. I want to go on that show so bad. But I can’t get past the no bathroom or toilet paper thing. And also, I’m extremely fond of food…

Now you. Which would you pick?

  1. Laura says:

Hmmm…well I couldn’t do Survivor. I started a diet last week and last literally five hours before I was miserable and quit. If I went on that show I’d be the crazy hunger bitch the entire time and completely embarrass myself.

I love to sing in my car to myself with the music cranked but I could never have anyone be witness to that atrocity.

So, Amazing Race is the one for me! The hubs and I have done a couple of adventure races together and managed not to kill each other so I think we could handle it.! lol Maybe Adam Levine could be the local standing on the mat at the finish line and say something like, “Welcome to your dream come true.” He’d have to be shirtless of course!

  2. Lisa Tipton says:

Definitely The Voice, but I too cannot sing. Well, this is fantasy world so i would wish for the best Christina Aguilera voice ever so I can win the show. But I dont want to be famous really. Too complicated with cameras following you around for the rest of your life. Every time your weight seesaws the whole world says how fat you have become. Nooo thank you!!! So I would dream that I am one of the winners that falls off the face of the earth after my win. :-)

  3. Marianne says:

Definitely – The Voice! Only because of two words …

    BLAKE SHELTON!!! ;-)

  4. Bailey Stewart says:

Survivor? No, I want indoor plumbing. The Amazing Race? No, I’m a picky eater and there’s no guarantee of a hamburger in all of those places – Mickey D’s has expanded, but ….. So, since I used to have a voice before years of neglect (and smoking, soon to be 2 years free), I’d have to go for that one. And yes, Adam …..

  5. Beth Anne says:

Amazing Race- we watch it to see how many of the places we’ve been to and where we’d like to go (or definitely NOT go) in the future!

  6. Jersey Lou says:

Definitely “The Amazing Race”! I’ve done enough travel in funky places, I’m willing to make an effort at the pitstops, etc (can be worse than the girl who got the watermelon in the face, right?), and I’ve already eaten sheep brain – how much worse can it get? (Okay, bad question!)

  7. Jersey Lou says:

    *can’T be worse*

  8. Angie says:

The voice. I love toilet paper to much and I’m not all that excised about being lost in a forgin county.

  9. drey says:

Amazing Race!! I soooooooooooo want to do it! Now, to find a partner… Maybe that can be my “schtick” – going on the show with a random partner…

  10. Laura says:

Amazing race! I love to travel and I can navigate.

  11. Karise E says:

The Amazing Race, b/c even if you lose, you still got a free trip somewhere exotic you would have never gone to on your own!

  12. aida alberto says:

Amazing Race because it might be the only way I can visit another country. I really, really can’t sing so the Voice is out. I really don’t want to pee outdoors in the bushes without any toilet paper or go hungry because I can’t catch anything so Survivor is out.

  13. teresa C. says:

Oh i would de go on the Voice..but I can’t sing to save my life..but I like to think I can…The Amazing race wouldn’t work for me as I walk with a cane…they would dump me it would take too long to get around with me..lol..have a great day

  14. Tracy Gilpin says:

Honestly, since I can’t sing, definitely not the voice. Survivor would be a challenge only because I’m diabetic…be the worry that blood sugar would get too low because no food. The Amazing Race – only if I had a partner who would be able to do the stuff I couldn’t do. The “reality” show I most would love to go on would be Big Brother – food of some sort on daily basis, challenges not too physically demanding, and you can shower/shave!

  15. Janet Pepsin says:

Definitely The Voice. Even if I have to hear Adam and Blake tell me I can’t sing, at least I might get a high-five or a hug from one of them.

  16. Kreid says:

I would pick The Amazing Race I have always wondered how far I could push myself before I reach my breaking point, not to mention how my husband and I would really work through the problems together . I would, however, want my husband to go on The Voice. His voice is magic to me, but maybe I am just partial.

  17. Denise says:

The Voice hands down. Just to see Adam Levine and Blake Shelton would be worth the embarrassment since I can’t carry a tune to save my life.

  18. Vickie P says:

Definitely Amazing Race! I am the official navigator on trips plus I want to see the world–even if it’s at lightning speed! Can’t imagine being on Survivor for same reasons Jill said and definitely can’t sing anymore!

  19. Jeanine says:

What if you don’t watch any of the above? I know that ideas behind Survivor & Amazing Race so I’d have to choose The Voice. I can’t sing to save my life, but I’d rather do that than anything on the other shows.

  20. KathyP says:

The Amazing Race  But only for the travel and seeing all those different places leaving out the eating weird foods and doing crazy stunts ;-) .

  21. Sue G. says:

There is NO WAY I could be on Survivor. Too much work and too little food.

The Amazing Race would be fun, but there is no way I would eat any of that weird stuff they have to sometimes eat. I’m too picky.

I would love to be on The Voice because I love to sing. I’m not good at it, but I love to sing, so I guess I’d pick The Voice.

  22. Juhi says:

definately the voice!! just to drool over adam levine :p
and may be survivor since it could help me lose some weight :D :P

  23. Cara says:

Well… If I could sing The Voice so I could see and hug Adam Levine. The Amazing Race would upset me because you have to rush through places you’ve never been and I wouldn’t get to enjoy. And I’d never do Surviver because I like comfort too much.

  24. ActuallyAshley says:

What you wrote is basically exactly like me(exept for hugging Adam, can’t stand him). Out of the three though, I would pick The Amazing Race. There would be A LOT of arguing on my part though because gawd knows I hate when things don’t go right! Dh and I would probably be hilarious on it!

  25. Jackie C. says:

I could do Amazing Race, I can find my way out of a paper bag. That said, I would do The Voice. I can sing as well as many of the singing contest shows contestents .I want to wear all the sparkly clothes and experience just for one day what it is like to be a singing star.Being around a bunch of hunky talented men doesn’t hurt the attraction, either.

  26. MaryAnne says:

    I’d pick The Voice. I’m an alto-soprano.

The survivor is natural only for cave dwellers. Like you, I love food, Angel Soft and a potty with a door.

I would only move fast in The Amazing Race if they featured 60% off sales in stores along the route

  27. kp says:

Why can’t there be a reality show for readers!!! I would so win!!!

  28. Jen P. says:

I would choose the Amazing Race. Because honestly, I would love the opportunity to see the world. HOWEVER, no food challenges. I’m allergic to fish, so that would be a must have. After that, I’m all over anything else!

  29. Kathleen O says:

Oh The Voice for sure.. I love Blake and Adam.. I am so glad that they are still on this year… I would never make it on Survivor or Amazing Race.

  30. Melanie says:

I would have to say none of the above, lol. I can’t sing and I’m too introverted to want to be the center of attention. A hug from Adam would be nice though. :)
No Amazing Race, because I’m not athletic or good with directions. The only way you’ll see me run is if someone/something is chasing me,lol.
Survivor would be a no as well. I like indoor plumbing, no bugs and I’m a picky eater who will not eat anything weird or unfamiliar. Although I probably would lose weight that way….by starvation, lol.

  31. Judy F says:

If I was able the amazing race though I am terrified of heights. that might be a problem

  32. Traci says:

Survivor, only so I could jumpstart dropping a few pounds. They could totally vote me off after about a week.

  33. Michelle says:

If I could sing, The Voice would be my first pick mainly because of Adam Levine. But if I had a choice the Amazing Race would be it. I have a good sense of direction and I love to travel and go to new places. So I would love the adventure of it. Survivor, would be a no. I need AC, toilet and a shower.

  34. Laurie says:

I’d say Amazing Race. It would be interesting to go to the places and test myself. Not sure I could have hubby as a partner though, he’d be too bossy. LOL.

  35. Maria says:

I know you don’t have it on here, but What Not To Wear would be the ultimate! Like you can’t find your way out of a paperbag :) , I can’t find my way out of fleece :)
    Happy Monday!

  36. Marea says:

Amazing Race definitely. It is something the kids & I watch together, we love to travel and have been at some of the places they have been to.

  37. brandy morrison says:

Even though I can’t sing…’The Voice’. For my boyfriend’s Adam Levine and Blake Shelton :-)

I’d really like to be ‘The Bachelorette’….They need a ‘real’ woman. (Like the ones in your books for instance.) Not some Barbie/model looking – wanna – be actress. And for once someone who DOESN’T drink! :???: :???:

  38. Kathleen says:

I want Blake Shelton to hug ME!

  39. Kelly S says:

Please don’t make me go on any reality tv show. Because I really don’t believe I can dance or sing or survive. My talent would be that I can read.

  40. Marissa R says:

I can’t sing and I won’t eat bugs…. So Amazing Race it would be. I know someone that made it to the last interview and got cut because there wasn’t enough drama between her and her husband…. There is plenty of drama here, and so a long as u don’t have to eat bugs or brains I could do it

  41. Kim Akers says:

Although no reality show is quite my cup of tea, I think out of those three it would have to be Amazing Race. My hubby is a pretty good navigator (no lie – he really does like looking at maps, although I don’t think he would ask for directions), and I’ve always wanted to travel on someone else’s dime!

  42. Lee-Ellen says:

You need a None of the Above choice!!!

  43. Mary W says:

Well, I’ve always had a desire to have a fantastic singing voice (which I do NOT), so I’d want to go on the Voice. Plus, I also love Adam!

  44. Erika says:

I might be ok at the amazing race. :D

  45. Donna M says:

Reality TV is not my favorite choice to watch! But I do watch Dancing With The Stars & The Bachelor/Bachelorette!!! Have no idea who Adam Levine is!!! I have seen The Voice a few times but he was not on at that time. If I saw a picture I might say, “Oh, him”!!!! Many, many, many years ago I had a somewhat decent voice so I would choose The Voice. In junior high & high school I always was in chorus & productions that we did. I even did a couple of short solos that were part of a musical piece! No bragging. I love music but music not noise!!!

  46. Susan says:

Although I would love to be on The Voice, I would probably have to settle for American Idol since they let you try out no matter how bad you are. ;-) No way could I make it on Survivor or The Amazing Race. Anyone remember the girl on Fear Factor who took one look at the bugs and saie “Oh hell no!”? That would be me.

  47. Suzy Wilson says:

Hands down – The Voice! Love it. I wouldn’t turn down a hug from Adam. If I could only sing…

  48. Karon McCulloch says:

The Voice – can’t carry a tune in a bucket, but the opportunity to give Blake Shelton a hug. I’d be afraid of cracking Adam Levine’s skinny ribs but Blake is definitely an arm load plus!

  49. SusanR says:

Don’t like snakes and eating bugs so no to Survivor for me. I have a niece who was on the Amazing Race. She LOVED it. She had to build a coffin in Ghana. Go figure. That leaves The Voice. I’m one of those people who loved Blake Shelton from before the show so I’m not surprised American has taken him to heart. Even if I croaked like a frog and made a fool of myself it would be worth it just to get one of his bear hugs on the way out!!

  50. Stephanie says:

The Amazing Race would be awesome here are so many places I want to go. I also like Survivor and think I could survive, but no guarantees. I would never be on The Voice since I have NO voice and I don’t think I would like being the center of attention like that…

  51. Wendy says:

If I could sing, it would be The Voice. But you can have Adam – he has way too many tattoo’s for me! I’ll hug Blake. ;-)

  52. Quilt Lady says:

It would have to be The Voice because I do love Blake, but I can’t sing either. I would never survive the other two.

Got your book today and really looking forward to reading it.

  53. karen says:

Definitely The Voice! I can’t sing either but I wish I could! And not to be the bearer of bad news but I heard they’re replacing Adam :( so you better hurry! Lol

  54. Glittergirl says:

Given the options it would be Amazing Race but I’d have to find another partner because my husband and I would kill each other. I am a great navagator though, maybe my son as he’s level headed and a great problem solver. He’s also got fantastic people skills

I would die on Survivor…Type 1 Insulin Dependent Diabetic who sunburns REALLY bad and awfully weak…

I can’t sing AT ALL…I have to lip sync in Church. I broke my voice a few years ago trying to talk through laryngitis when my Mother was in the hospital and it never healed with my Asthma and Diabetes. I wouldn’t mind going on it to snuggle up to Blake and Adam though. I’d also slap Christina around and tell her to be a lady and a better example to the girls of the nation watching her as a role model!

  55. Karen B says:

None of the above! If I were about 40/50 years younger I’d love to do DWTS!

  56. Brandie B says:

The Voice! I want to meet Blake and Adam.

  57. Jessie Foster says:

I love the Amazing Race and would love to go on it…but I have nightmares that the sleep deprivation would not be pretty to watch. Tired and hungry are not what I want the world to see!

  58. Steffi K says:

I could probably do Amazing Race with my Best friend we work well together and she’s more brainy than I am but we’re equally adventurous and I would go on the Voice

  59. Maggie says:

None of the above. Reality shows do not interest me at all. Guess I am a big grouch. Sorry.

  60. Marcy says:

If I had to pick it would be Amazing Race. I’d love to see the world.

No way would I go on Survivor. I’m very fair skinned and would be lobster red within five minutes with blisters soon to follow. Also no for The Voice. I can sing, but wouldn’t do it in front of a crowd on a stage.

  61. Deanna says:

I’ve never actually watched it (I have a young child; those hours are normally spent watching Phineas & Ferb or my eyelids), but I’d TOTALLY do the Amazing Race. I’d even do it with my hubby, as long as I didn’t have to see him from two days before until we were already ON the plane. Turns out, he travels well; he just sucks at getting the travel started.

  62. Mw says:

I don’t watch any of the shows mentioned above. So I guess none of the above. Although the Voice could be cool as I could turn into a total fan girl for Adam Levine.

  63. Liza says:

I’d try out for The Voice just to meet Blake and Adam. Can’t sing, but would try just to meet them.

  64. Tracy S says:

Amazing Race! My family loves to watch this show! I’d love to do a family one with the boys too!

  65. ajdean says:

the voice but the australian one so i can get a hug from ricky martin and joel maddern

  66. Auntie J says:

The Voice. Even if dramatic contraltos never get anywhere.

  67. Elisa says:

OH, I’d SO go on The Amazing Race. With my sister. We’d be the girls you love to hate because we’d be off before the end of the first show. We’d be the ones that when the going get tough, we’d find a bar for a nice cocktail and rest!

  68. Signi S. says:

I’d love to go on The Voice, but I can’t really sing either. At least not like they do on the show. As far as Survivor goes I’ve got the same issues, and The Amazing Race I’d probably get lost too, but I’d probably forget about why I’m there and want to play tourist!!

  69. Heather C says:

I have an awful voice, but I’d pick that just because I don’t ever want to be on the other two. I will not eat worms (even for great sums of money) and I’m not cold hearted enough for those shows. Now if I could join survivor and get kicked off in the first episode and stay in a nice hotel on whatever tropical destination they picked for the rest of the trip, then that would be very tempting indeed!

  70. Heather C says:

I think if I had to pick a show it’d be family feud! that’s more my style :)

  71. Lissa says:

I used to dream about being on the Amazing Race, but since I would probably end up shoving hubs over a cliff or giving him shellfish, we decided no.

  72. Mona K says:

I so agree about the reality for readers! Ok…the Voice would be fun but I can’t sing but it would be worth going on to meet Blake Shelton… ;-) ..if I had some friends it would be ok  Amazing Race I would so get lost, my husband is the one with the navigating skills. Survivor not sure about that either expect if I had a very HOT guide to lead the way then it wouldn’t be so bad…
