Whatcha Reading?
September 2, 2010 | Filed under: Stuff
I turned on my Sony reader to show you all I what I was reading, and found this:

Sweet, right? Oldest does have her moments. Anyway, what I’m reading is Dragonfly In Amber by Diana Gabaldon. Yes, still. This is because the book is 10,000 pages. Okay maybe only 1,000 pages. And I don’t care, I’m LOVING it. Well, to be honest, I’m loving Jamie Fraser, the hero. He’s possibly the yummiest hero of all time.
Now you. What are YOU reading? And liking it or no? Inquiring minds need to know.

I love when you ask this question. I find so many new things I want to read this way. Nalini Singh does a Friday Book Club at her blog, which is another fun place to find new-to-me stuff.
Right now I am reading Midnight Crystal by Jane Castle. It’s the last in the Dreamlight trilogy and it is wonderful so far (and I just started). I love all her stuff, under all her names.
I am especially fond of the Harmony books because I just adore the dust bunnies. So cute and yet so fierce.

Oops. It’s Jayne Castle. I forgot the Y.

I just finished Lady of the Forest by Jennifer Roberson — how the Robin Hood legends began. Totally loved it, especially Robin’s relationship with Marian. Of course, I’m a huge Robin Hood junkie, so I am a bit biased. But waiting impatiently for the Fed-Ex dude to deliver the sequel.
I’ve got Naked in Death on my Kindle, but haven’t had a whole lot of time to get to it. Just about everyone I know has insisted I need to read this series. So far, so good.

I’m half way through two books, but I am on a break now to crochet a blanket for my grandaughters 3rd birthday. I only have 31 days left. No pressure. lol

I’m currently reading Taming Her Billionaire Boss by Maxine Sullivan. I’ve got a couple of other Desires lined up to read when I’m done with this one. Definitely liking this one.
There is a handful of other stories I’d like to be reading, but short of discovering some way to convince the publishers to realize that people who read ebooks don’t just live in North America, it will probably be a while before I can afford to buy them (in print form
)

Finished up Star Island last night. If you want a laugh then give it a shot. It had me laughing through out the whole book.
Started Mockingjay this morning. This has to be one of the best YA series that I have read. Suzanne Collins does a great job with it.

If Jill can honestly say Jamie Fraser is as great as Roarke, I’m going to have to check out Dragonfly In Amber by Diana Gabaldon.

Hey Jill,
That’s such a sweet note. I love little surprises like that. They are the BEST!
Speaking of best Jamie Fraser is the BEST! I love the first 3-4 books in this series. I’ve reread them several times, but I always seem to stop after Drums of Autumn. Books 5-7 kind of loose some of the magic that was the first 3 books. Especially Echo in the Bone. I’ll be interested to see what you think of it once you get to it.
BTW I found the series between books 4 & 5 being published and devoured them one after the other. I had an eye doctor appt during this time and my prescription doubled because of the reading I did. That’s never happened since. I totally blame Diana because I read until the wee hours and just couldn’t stop. There’s a reason why she jokingly (but accurately) created a “methadone” reading list for her fans.

I’m reading The Homecoming by JoAnn Ross. So far I am loving it. I’ve kind of been on a JoAnn Ross reading streak! I’ve also recently read Infamous by Suzanne Brockmann & Crossfire by JoAnn Ross. Not sure what is up next.
Everyone have a great weekend. Stay safe if you are on the road.

Now I’m finishing up “The Darkest Pleasure” by Gena Showalter and “Corralled” by Lorelei James.
I’m a little iffy about reading Diana Gabaldon after reading some of the reviews for her Outlander series.
