Can’t talk, I’m reading Sizzling Sixteen

June 23, 2010 | Filed under: Stuff

Okay, I’m not. Not yet. It’s sitting on my ereader WAITING for me breathlessly. And I pray to the Evanovich gods that there’s lots of Ranger loving on there for me, but I’m not holding my breath.

I’m still going to love the book. I can’t help myself.

But before I can read it, I have to get to 7/1 with a FINISHED book of my own. Fingers crossed for me, because oh boy am I cutting it close. And it’s not my fault. Teenagers keep having basketball games. And more games.

And more games.

And they just sit on the stands for hours, living their life through their iPhones and gabbing with friends.

While I watch the clock go by and try not to panic. I’d work on the benches while waiting but people lean over my shoulder and want to read what I’m working on, and the last time that happened, it was one of the girl’s very sweet math teacher and she happened to catch a certain line I’d written. It actually wasn’t a line meant to be in the book, it was a note to myself. And it said:

HE DOES HER HERE.

Yes. I seriously wrote that, and she seriously read that, and now I can’t look her in the eyes.

Ever again.

So I try not to work in public anymore.

So I’m behind. And still at the games. And grumpy. And the ONLY person happy to see me right now is Frat Boy.

Puppies are a gift from heaven. You know, when they’re not peeing in your house. Or eating your underwear.

And P.S. thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the comments on yesterday’s blog. LOVED them. They were sweet, funny, amazing, and reinforced how important love and romance is in real life. If you didn’t get a chance to read through them, do it. You’ll smile, I promise.

P.S.S. For those of you who asked what Alpha Man and I call each other. I call him honey when he’s being sweet, which isn’t all that often. He is alpha, after all. And I call him “Shalvis”. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know exactly. He calls me “Woman” when he thinks he’s being funny. He’ll also call me honey or sweetheart, but when I’m being … difficult (hey, it happens) he’ll call me CeeDub. Short for C.W. Short for Crack ‘Ho. Hey, that’s how we roll around here.

Yeah, I wanna see some hot Ranger lovin’ too. I love Joe, but he tends to get on my nerves the way he’s so willing to hand over Stephanie to Ranger, so he deserves it if she enjoys some one on one with that sexy bad boy.

LOL on what the sweeet math teacher witnessed. Bet that fueled her imagination. It sure fueled mine ;)

Have a good day CeeDub *g*

  2. Jennifer M says:

I’m with you guys there, definately need some hot Ranger lovin’.

I love the pic of Frat Boy, he is adorable.

    LOL on the math teacher.

  3. Nell Dixon says:

Heh, I just read Sizzling Sixteen last night.

  4. Liza says:

Love me some Frat Boy. Sounds like you gave the math teacher a bit of an education. ;-)

  5. Deb says:

MORE RANGER! Do you hear me, Evanovich?

Cee-Dub! That is freaking hysterical, yo.

  6. Carrie says:

    Oh please more Ranger …

Loved the pic of Frat Boy.

  7. Brandy says:

I started reading Sizzling Sixteen last night, too! *G* I am so sick of Joe, please, please have MORE Ranger.

  8. Nell Dixon says:

I don’t want to post spoilers but I will say i love that Mooner is in this one and Lula just cracks me up everytime. I’d like more tension but it was a good read and now I have to wait a whole year for the next one – sob! I’d like more Ranger too

  9. Nell Dixon says:

ps There is a big promise for more Ranger in the next one! And that’s all I’m saying! lol

  10. Jeannie says:

I wonder what would happen if you left that in the book? Hmmm …. HE DOES HER HERE! Your mind could go any way it wanted to. I like it! ;-)

” HE DOES HER HERE” hmmmm so so eloquent and yet so satisfying.
Yesterday I went and waited in line at Borders (fyi your at Borders in Kansas City)in my homemade RANGEMAN t-shirt that also said “BABE”. I don’t ever peek at the back page but some little  made me do it.
    ********possible spoiler, over 18 only*************
I’m sad, and only half way through. I love J.E., I love her books. I understand an author gets a story in her head and can’t let go of it. But I want “HE DOES HER HERE” followed by the name “RANGER” in her next freaking book.
    ******** end rant and spoiler*******
Well now think I may need to apologize I’m a bit errr hormonal about Ranger. Hubby finds this amusing fyi, he actually called and asked me if Steph got her man yesterday. He likes the series as well, we travel a lot and he was disappointed when I couldn’t get the unabridged sixteen on cd for our upcoming vacation(yes i pre ordered it).
Ok so talk vomit. What can I say Ranger makes me emotional, I think the “R” team will understand.

  13. Donna M says:

I don’t read Evanovich but hope you all enjoy the latest.

Love the picture of Middle’s back & Frat Boy running full out! He is adorable.

If the Math Teacher was offened by that she needs to get a life! I’m just sayin’

When is your Blaze coming out? Soon I hope.

  14. Sonya says:

I’m laughing out loud about Cee-Dub. That is just too funny! Thanks a million for the smile today. Of course, who wouldn’t smile looking at Frat Boy in that picture? Too cute!

  15. Kristina says:

OhMyHoe! I love your stories!! You make me laugh almost every time I read this blog! My husband thinks I’m nuts… Only a small amount… Well, a little more.. I hope you get everything done you’re supposed to! And how rude of people to be nosy and yet you feel guilty!! Shame shame!! ;-)

  16. Terri says:

I thought JE did a better job on this one.
I am holding onto the hope that there is…..spoiler

    another “debt”
    I know, I’m pathetic.

Love your exerpts!! Absolutely will buy both of those books. A girl has got to support the authors that know what “he does her here” actually means.
“And then he was in me”(or some such nonsense in JE #8)…seriously?
Maybe JE was at a sporting event and forgot to go back and write the scene?
