Observations

April 2, 2010 | Filed under: Stuff

1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.

3. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

4. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

5. Was learning cursive really necessary?

6. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

7. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

8. Bad decisions make good stories.

9. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

10. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blu-Ray? I don’t want to have to restart my collection… again.

11. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

12. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this — ever.

13. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dang it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice-mail. What did you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?

14. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

15. I keep some people’s phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

16. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

17. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

(Thanks to Judy for sending me these. I’m working my fingers to the bone on my next book, which I’ll tell you about very soon. In the meantime, Slow Heat and Instant Temptation are on the shelves and this overworked writer really really hopes you’ll get yourself to a book store, real or virtual, and purchase. ;-) )

LOL, I love this! Thanx for the great kick-off for the weekend.

    Happy Easter everyone!

  2. JoyceZ says:

These are great…and so true, especially #15.
Started Instant Temptation and I’m loving it. I don’t want it to end. Ever. I’m not ready to give up those Wilder boys!

  3. Shiloh Walker says:

My observations of some of your observations…

    1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

*G* But the FBI probably knows where most of us visit anyway.

    3. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

    True.

    4. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

    Why bother.

    7. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

True…but possibly very embarassing for some of the survivors…

  4. Judy F says:

My niece sent me these to work. They had me laughing out loud. Esp the one about not doing any more work.

  5. Liza says:

Thanks for the laugh! I’d seen some of these before, but they are always so funny. I especially like #15.

  6. Jackie C says:

Do you ever go on a book tour? I agree that the tour would probably not be fun for you, but the rest of us would like meeting you. For Californian a question, is it ever going to stop raining and snowing, fer pity sake?

  7. tennismom mary g says:

All of them are good but sarcasm font, map quest, missing a call and Kay & Miller Lite are LOL.

My Chapters still doesn’t have IT in stock. Did they not suffer enough of my sarcasm/wrath when they spelled your name wrong? Do they not know who they’re dealing with here?

  8. Allie says:

Thank you, and Judy, for that laugh today. I really can relate to those.

I own both books, and they were both fabulous reads! :)

  9. limecello says:

I’m definitely on board with 15 & 16 – and yay more books! I convinced a lot of people to buy Slow Heat, and we’ve been dishing about Gage. We all want his story too!

  10. Erin E. says:

A smile to start my day. love it!

My copy of Instant Temptation arrived just in time for spring break. woot! Can’t wait to read it, Jill.

  11. Donna M says:

I’m sorry you are so overworked but at the same time over joyed that we are going to get more books to read by Jill.

#3 is my favorite! #6 is oh, so true! I can even get to the freeway going in the right direction without their help!! I still love maps, you know the ones you keep in the glove compartment! #17 is one you can bet on!!! ;-) But don’t just to be safe!!

Thanks Jill & Judy for the humor!

To Jill & family & all that visit here have a wonderful Easter weekend.

For Jackie C., yes it does stop raining & snowing in California! Right now is probably one of the last storms of the season. Will we get more rain probably, but not like winter. Next week promises some sun & good weather.

  12. cheryl c. says:

    Great list, Jill and Judy!

And, Jill, I simply must hear the rest of the story from your latest twitter about flashing your husband and discovering HE WASN’T ALONE!

  13. D says:

Love the list..very accurate. I have one to add..Never, Never, Never agree to anything while under the influence of pain meds, especially if it involves teenagers(honestly they have no shame!!!). I also started Instant Temptation while under the influence and it turned out to be instant forget(lol) I’m restarting it again today. Have a great Easter weekend!!!

  14. Barbara says:

These were great. Thanks for sharing Jill. I really likes the one about work and am close to that point now.
