Snow Day
April 1, 2010 | Filed under: Stuff
Once in awhile, a day dawns so jaw-droppingly gorgeous that I can’t stop looking out the windows.

It’s really very distracting.

In today’s case, we’d just spent the past 36 hours being pelted by a blizzard, and now have two feet of fresh powdery snow. I think the gorgeousness is Mother Nature’s way of saying sorry that you had to shovel for five hours.

Which is fine. Because I wasn’t the one shoveling, Alpha Man was.
I went snow shoeing beneath 300 foot tall towering pines laden with heavy snow …

Twice they unloaded on me and made my hair frizzy. Bastards. No, I don’t have a picture of that. It’s too scary.
I do have a picture of Ashes and Jake trying to stand on the backs of my snow shoes instead of post holing in the snow.

Until they found something buried and hybernating in a snow cave. Since it probably was a bear, I gave them the bum’s rush.

And then we headed to the cliff.

Where Ashes roused a very unhappy, premenstrual raccoon and then Jake nearly caused an avalanche, so we called it a day and headed home for cookies.

Awesome photo’s Jill. I know my two dogs would have refused point blank to go out in that kind of snow. Caroline x

Wow, despite how much I hate snow, that is an incredible landscape. I bet the sun made it sparkle like Edward Cullen *g*
So glad the dogs didn’t trip you and send you over a steep incline. You’d be missed!

The snow pictures are gorgeous but I will leave the snow to you. Brrrr… I am trying to picture a PMSing raccoon. Too funny! Poor Ashes. LOL!

At least the snow is beautiful where you are. Here in the city it turns into dirty slush.

Love the pics! What an awesome view you have from that cliff. As much as I hate snow, I wish I was there, the pollen in SC is killing me…
