Me:
Where are my sunglasses?

(Six people in this house and not a single response.)

Me:
WHERE ARE MY SUNGLASSES?

Youngest:
You mean the ones on your head?

Me (reaching up and indeed finding my sunglasses on my head):
Okay, good. Good observant skills. Keep that up. How about my Sony ereader?

Youngest:
Plugged into your computer.

(Wow. She is good…)

Me:
You wouldn’t by any chance know the secret to peace on earth?

Youngest:
More cookies.

A girl after my own heart …

    Dear Jill,

I just wanted to let you know that I’m including Slow Heat (which I loved!) in the B&N Romance Feature for April. If you’d like me to email your editor or PR person, will you send me their addresses? eloisa@eloisajames.com. The column appears on the B&N Review page, first Monday of every month, so Slow Heat will be in the column on April 5th. Congrats on a great book!

Ah, the student has become the master. You have done well teacher.

BTW – trying not to nag here. I work for a sunglass company & I can’t tell you how many people have broken their shades by wearing them as hairbands. Don’t even talk about my friend who lost his bending over the side of his boat. No, that’s not covered under warranty. My rule: ON YOUR FACE OR IN THE CASE.
A few of my friends have started sentences with: I know your rule Mary but…. LOL
