What an irritated teen looks like

December 1, 2009 | Filed under: Stuff

Oh, what’s that? You can’t see her?

She’s there. Shoveling off the car because she’s at my beck and call. Why? Because I said, that’s why. Lord, if I had a penny for every time I’ve said that to her lately …

That’s her fake smile, by the way. The one that really says: mom, you’re ruining my life!

It’s my duty as her mother …

Oh I so remember that look from when I had it LOL.

Ick, look at all that snow! The horror! Soon this will be my fate….

  3. Pat L. says:

I sent along my mailing info. Thanks so much.

Kids, eventually they grow up or NOT.

  4. Kim A. says:

Gaahhh! The snow! Gees, I’m in southern Ontario and we just had our first wet flurries today–nothing in November at all. It melted on contact with the ground, mercifully.

As for the “the look,” I don’t have kids (also a mercy–lol), but I do remember giving Mom that look time and time again. Poor Mom!

  5. Amber says:

Oh poor you! I remember being like that to my mom and I know in too few years I will have that done to me. Good luck!

  6. Liza says:

My middle niece could give her pointers on “the look”. I’m going to stay with my nieces next weekend and I know “the look” is going to push me over the edge.

They are calling for sleet and snow here tomorrow. Nothing should stick, but still, we don’t get that weather this early. Doesn’t look good for an easy winter in TN.

  7. Ashley says:

Lol. 11 years after moving out and I still give my mom that look! But seriously Jill, it looks like it’s freezing. You didn’t really expect a geniune smile, did you?

  8. trish says:

The worst is they grow up and move away and your stuck cleaning off your own car again!!!

  9. limecello says:

lol – newsflash – this just in – irritated teen found in the wild… ;)

  10. D says:

LOL!!! That’s really not that bad of “the look”.
My teen’s give me that evil, if looks could kill look. Especially my 16 year old son.(he towers over me at 6″1″.) When I get the look, I smile sweetly and loudly say “I Love you!!!!”. Love the pics.

  11. Donna M says:

All the snow is so pretty. I see lots of pretty blue sky in the background which means she won’t have to clean off the car again for awhile!! Something will make her smile & be in a good mood again soon, cause after all, she is a teen!!

  12. Donna M says:

Congratulations to yesterday’s winners! Lucky all of you getting one of Jill’s books.

  13. Brandy says:

I have seen this look, on my Daughter, in person. *G*

  14. Karin says:

LOL I’m sure I gave my mother that look numerous times as a teenager.

  15. SonyaM says:

Your snow is pretty, but I am grateful that I’m not there. Lately, when I receive the “why” question, I respond, “You don’t need to know why, just say ‘yes m’am’.”

  16. Carrie says:

Some days it is good to be the mom.
