Better Naughty Than Nice
November 23, 2009 | Filed under: Stuff
I almost forgot to tell you, this Christmas novella is available now! I wrote it so long ago, I had to read the back cover to remind myself what it was about. Either I have too many things on my brain, or I’m getting old.
Don’t answer that.

Here’s back cover copy:
Meet St. Nick’s delightfully devilish brother, Damon Claus. He’s about to prove to three unsuspecting couples that being naughty is much, much nicer…
No Mistletoe Required by Vicki Lewis Thompson
With Damon’s sneaky help, Hayden Manchester and Riley Kinnard rekindle a long-running, very creative rivalry…that leaves them fighting over who’s on top!
Her Secret Santa by Jill Shalvis
Workaholic Ally Dauer runs the local toy drive. Only when she discovers some very adult toys, firefighter Eddie Weston convinces her that the best gifts are meant to be shared….
Snug in His Bed by Rhonda Nelson
Viv Foster hates Christmas. Hank Bailey owns a Christmas tree farm. What could they possibly have in common? Sizzling sexual chemistry and, thanks to Damon, the opportunity to act on it. After all, it’s the season of miracles…
I like Christmas stories but honestly, I’m having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that the radio stations are already holiday music and that I’m one short month away from needing Christmas presents beneath the tree.
And first there’s Thanksgiving to survive. Yes, survive. Are any of you as crazed as I am this week? I just realized that house guests are coming, whether I’ve cleaned the house or not, and that I forgot to buy a turkey.
Huh. Wonder if they’ll accept a Dominos pizza …

Not one bit ready for the holidays! Brother-in-law and his pregnant wife are flying in tonight which means my husband and I have to go to my in-law’s for the rest of the week. Husband still recovering from a return trip to the hospital and my in-laws want to go get a family portrait done. My poor guy can hardly sit let alone stand for a family portrait nevermind that he looks like he’s spent a couple of weeks in the hospital! I can do this, I can do this.
Posted on November 23rd, 2009 at 5:12 amHmmm…ever thought about writing true crime, Jill? I wouldn’t mind letting you write the story of why I killed my mother-in-law with a turkey baster!
Have a Great Thanksgiving. I hope everything goes well.

How you survive 2 Turkey dinners is amazing. We only have Christmas in the UK and that is quite enough for me. Everyone moans that we are having turkey but when you suggest something else a riot ensues!
Posted on November 23rd, 2009 at 5:24 amI am sure a little bit of holiday fun with a new book will make things a bit easier….

We always look forward to holidays & then we plan too much & you’re so tired that you need a another vacation day. Have fun anyway.

At some stores here in Ontario, Canada, there was Christmas stuff in the stores just after our Thanksgiving (second Monday in October) and way before Hallowe’en…it’s WAY too early!

Ugh, it doesn’t release on Kindle until Dec. 1st. That blows!
Posted on November 23rd, 2009 at 7:47 amI’m going to a relatives house for Thanksgiving, so I only have to worry about a couple of dishes, thank goodness, I don’t really think anyone would want to eat a turkey that I cooked!
Liza says:
Have this book in my TBR pile.
Heading to my sister’s tomorrow for Turkey Day. We will shop for food tomorrow night and start cooking on Wednesday.

The blurbs have definitely got me interested. But I’m also having a hard time with the fact that Christmas is being shoved at everyone before Thanksgiving has even passed. I mean, the ABC Family channel has been showing Christmas shows in their ‘countdown to the 25 days of Christmas’. Now, my dad being the Christmas fiend that he is watches all of those shows, so I get stuck watching them to. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas, but I want to be able to enjoy Thanksgiving first.
And now I have three days of Thanksgiving to enjoy – Wednesday at my brother’s house, Thursday with my parents and my mom’s parents, and Friday with my dad’s side of the family.

I have this already, it’s in my TBR pile. Yay!
Yes, better naughty than nice! Goddess knows, I’ve spent over four decades being nice, being the “good” girl, and it sure as heck hasn’t got me anywhere. LOL.
Looking forward to reading it!
BTW, I’m in Canada and of course we did our Thanksgiving in October. I like that we don’t have two big holidays to contend with, so close to each other.
A very happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the States. Don’t worry, it’ll all come together and be fine.

We’re doing a small Thanksgiving dinner here with just my hubs and I and our kids. We turned down a family dinner just so we could have a fun and peaceful day. Of course the Sunday following we have a huge family dinner we have to attend and bring something to.

Hopefully this will be at Wal-Mart when I go there today to get my younger grandson’s Christmas gift. My Christmas shopping is mostly stress free as the budget allows only limited buying! I splurged on Christmas cards this year with a photo card, a one time thing!
Thanksgiving dinner is only myself & the oldest grandson. I fix something special but not turkey for just two. It is an enjoyable day, his mom works at a hospital and gets well fed there! She doesn’t mind working on Thanksgiving as so many don’t like it & some just don’t show up or call in sick. She hates that. If you work in health care at a hospital there are no holidays! She usually manages to get Christmas off but did not last year. Since her son is 20 we can all live with having our Christmas whenever we can get together, it is still fun.
I hate it when the stores start bringing out Christmas stuff in October! People just get all stressed out with the holidays instead of enjoying family & friends. Keep it simple and lower expectations instead of letting all the commercial hype get to you. Easy for me to say!!!
Whatever your plans for Thanksgiving try to enjoy the day.

Ooo, I hope I can get to the mall this weekend so I can grab a copy! I haven’t done any holiday reading yet this season and I’m ready!
We’re going to my cousin’s for Thanksgiving dinner – I’m taking a three layer chocolate cake, yum! The best part? Youngest daughter will be home from school Weds-Sun. I can’t wait to get my hands on her. She and her boyfriend of 2.5 yrs. just broke up, so she’s needing some TLC.
