Last week we had this:

Then I woke up yesterday and Mother Nature had gone a little PMS on us:

Yep, the gorgeous leaves are gone.
Yep, we had snow. About 4 inches. Ashes wouldn’t go outside. Couldn’t blame her. I had to dig up my boots. I’m afraid to dig up my ski pants. I mean what if after that Halloween candy … they don’t fit?

So until further notice, I’m on a candy, cookie, cake and pie moratorium. Just in case. And now, for all my so-called friends who still live in warm climates that shan’t be named, who enjoy calling and emailing to ask if it snowed yet because it’s 90 degrees where they are, YES, FINE, IT’S BUTT ASS COLD AND IT SNOWED.
I hope you’re stuck in traffic.

So I shouldn’t mention that Australia is currently experiencing an early heat wave???
I can’t remember how to convert the temps.. so I can’t torment you there.. lol

These are the kind of days Jill, where I have to admit I do not envy you. It’s 40 degrees in Chicago and it’s freezing! I don’t want winter. As pretty as the snow is, I’d give it up forever in a heartbeat.
Have a great weekend in your winter wonderland

Well, here in Richmond, we have been living the after effects of a silly little Hurricane. It has been raining nonstop with decent winds since Tuesday afternoon. Everything is flooded and lots of counties have shut down. Plus it’s in the 40′s right now. I’d rather have snow so I can kick the boys out of the house for a few hours LOL!

I live in RI and I do. not. want. snow. Alas, this will not stop it from coming, and everyone says this is going to be a bad winter. I hate snow and need to move somewhere that snow doesn’t yet know about~!

Oof – thankfully there hasn’t been much snow here – nothing that has stuck. Mother Nature is throwing her hissy fits, huh?
Posted on November 13th, 2009 at 6:02 amDoes not want snow! Poor Jill.

LOL… well, I’d take snow of 90 degrees, smog, humidity and traffic

So sorry you already have snow to deal with Jill. It was 34 when I woke up this morning, but shouldn’t stay that way. We haven’t had snow(good snow anyway) in Nashville in several years, so we might just be due this year. However, if we get snow, it will pretty much shut down the city. If we get snow I hope it happens on a Saturday so I don’t have to leave the house.

I LOVE snow! I lived in Colorado Springs for four years while my husband was stationed there and loved every minute of it! Now I’m back home in Oklahoma (11yrs back) and miss the heavy snowfalls. I’m hoping this year we’ll get a snow that will stay more than two days. I’m ready to make some snowmen and cuddle up with my husband!

I’m right up the road from Cindy (in MD) and it’s been nasty here, too. BTW Jill, I hope you come out of all 15 minutes of that moratorium unscathed

Hey Jill, send some of that cold weather my way! I would embrace it with open arms and a huge smile. I’m in Tampa, FL and sick of the heat down here. I was born and raised here and seriously think I was born in the wrong state because I’d much rather be in the cold than the heat.
Although last night it was in the 50s, its in the 70s today.

It’s been rainy and windy in SC all week. Just plain nasty outside. But I’d take the rain over the snow!

I feel your pain I live in the foothills of the Cascades and are expecting snow this afternoon(and high winds). The mountains are really getting it. Good luck with the cookie)/candy thing
I made home sugar cookies last night and had 2 for breakfast with my coffee
Have a great weekend, stay warm.

Aaackkk! I live in southeastern Ontario and the weather gods have been merciful so far this fall–we’ve had warmer-than-normal temps. I don’t even need long johns yet, whereas last year I was in them from October to April. LOL.
Frankly, you can keep the s-n-o-w. I know it’s coming, but if it could just wait until oh, February, that would be lovely.

It’s been pretty darned cool here, but thank goodness I haven’t had SNOwW yet. I’m not ready for it!

You can send me the snow! I love it, but it doesn’t snow here often and when it does it doesn’t stick often, either. Good luck on the pie, cookie and candy strike! *G*

The snow is beautiful…but I’m just looking at it! No snow where I live! I’d be delighted if we would just get some rain.
Now, I’m not trying to make you feel bad but we have sun, lots of sun!! Also it is a bit cooler, it was in the high 30′s last night (cold for here) and it might get to 60 today.
Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise with us.
Everyone enjoy the weekend.

Great pictures, Jill. Personally, I’m looking forward to the snow that’s supposed to fall here today and tomorrow with a possibility for another storm bringing snow on Sunday.

I kid you not…today, just today we’ve had sideways rain (wind gusts 45mph), sunshine, hail, thunder, lightening, rain and/or snow tonight. Warming temps this weekend bring the possibility of flooding. The plus side? I don’t have to mow the lawn until next spring!

I love the snow! And I really love it when it is stuck to the trees like it is in your pictures. So pretty! It is now unseasonably warm here in Indiana, where just a few weeks ago, it was terribly cold. Cannot seem to make up its mind!

The great thing is, you can drive just a few short hours and be in the wonderful, sunny Southern California sunshine. It’s the best of both worlds.
