The cure for pissiness
November 3, 2009 | Filed under: Stuff
Is a walk along Lake Tahoe. Only a month ago, the water would have been lapping at the bottom of this picture, but the water’s the lowest it’s been in 100 years …

I tried to get Ashes to jump into the water. Mountain Barbie would have. But Ashes is more sedate and lady-like, and she didn’t want to get her hair wet.

Goodness, I miss Mountain Barbie. Still.

Ashes tries to be brave. Just yesterday she took Sadie The Cat’s entire head in her mouth and gently gnawed, the way Mountain Barbie used to do.

Sadie The Cat (aka Bee-yotch) wasn’t amused.

And let me just transition here and say that I took all these pictures on the same day — yesterday.
And also, randomly … the time change isn’t agreeing with me.

I feel jet-lagged … and I need a nap.

Any day now winter is going to show up, and I’ll pull out my skis, wax them with my iron, and be happy. But in spite of the fact that it gets dark way too damn early, and that I accidentally ate dinner at 4 o’clock because I forgot to change the kitchen clock, I’m good with just enjoying all the colors.

what pretty pictures. I don’t enjoy the time change either. As soon as it gets dark I think its bed time.

Oh those are very pretty pictures. But unlike you, I am not looking forward to the snow at all. I’ll FedEx ours directly to you. Winter with no snow? Priceless.
Only thing I’m looking forward to this winter is the release of one hot book about a guy named Wade….
I miss Mountain Barbie too. She’s the right kinda gal to hang around in a place like that

Wonderful pictures Jill. I’m glad you brought up MB as I was just thinking about her the other day but I didn’t want to say. I hate the time change too. Even when we gain an hour it puts me off & it’s worse in the spring.

Holy Smokes! I thought I was the only one with the jet lag feeling! I’m having trouble getting my eye lids to stay open. It’s bad! and I had to drive on the highway! With the sun right in my eyes! Thank God for rush hour traffic

Very nice pictures! You live in a beautiful place!
Here in Indiana, we never changed time until a couple of years ago. I don’t know that I will ever get used to it! The only good thing is my kids are so little, that when it gets dark, they think it is bed time, so we can get them to bed by 7:30! Party!

I made dinner an hour early yesterday! Changed all the clocks except the one on the microwave, which I go by.
Posted on November 3rd, 2009 at 7:49 amIt does get dark early, but I was tired of my kids and me waiting for the school bus in the dark…ugh.

So many beautiful pictures! Mountain Barbie would have loved to spend the day at the lake with you. I still miss her too. I’m not loving the time change either. I want to sleep as soon as it gets dark and I’ve been hungry earlier than usual. Please eat some cookies for me, my weight watchers points don’t always include cookies.
BTW, we usually have winter with no snow in Nashville, and I really love it. Hoping for no snow again this year.

Love the pictures, Jill – and I agree about the time change. Happy to be able to “sleep in” but it’s thrown everything off and I’m constantly exhausted :\

I miss Mountain Barbie too. I would never have thought it possible to be so enchanted by a dog I never even met. Apparently, she was just that kind of girl. I’m also glad to get news of what Ashes is doing, on a morning where I feel like I have just flown from San Franciso to Singapore in five minutes. Am I a day late and a dollar short or a day early and whatever? Yawn.

The time change isn’t so bad for me. My kids, on the other hand, hate it. *G* Your pictures are lovely and the colors are gorgeous.

That water is very low. I’m hoping for a wet winter here which means snow for you.
As always I love your pictures. The fall color is so pretty. On my walk this morning there was a tree that was a beautiful bright red, so pretty. Yesterday I was complaining that it was to warm. The high was 84, it is November shouldn’t it be cooler?
I want cooler & rain. I’ve never seen it snow in the town where I live. A short distance north where I used to live it would snow once in a while maybe a whole inch people just went crazy!! No snow is a nice thing but it is pretty in pictures!
I’m babbling now!
Have a great day everyone!
