Top Five Reasons NOT To Go Shopping With Alpha Man:

October 15, 2009 | Filed under: Stuff

1. Because no matter what store you go to, he will gravitate to the TV. Even in 7 Eleven.

2. Because he finds it amusing to sing to whatever music is playing, whether he knows the words or not.

3. Because he will invariably find the one pet store within a hundred miles and hold up a puppy as if I might actually say SURE BUY IT.

4. Because he will invariably buy some sort of sports equipment.

5. Because he NEVER gets tired of waiting until we’re an aisle apart and yelling “honey, I found your [insert most embarrassing product you can think of here].”

  1. Judy F says:

I think a whole box of cookies are in order after shopping with Alpha Man…

  2. Stacy ~ says:

I think payback would be a (wonderful) bitch, Jill LOL. Ever tried doing any of these back to him, especially #5? Come on, I dare you *g*

  3. tennismom says:

At least he goes shopping with you. Hubby & son think the grocery fairy delivers & we don’t actually have to go to the store. They never tell me when we are out of stuff unless the store is already closed. I make a list as I think of an item or as we run out. Heaven forbid I think of something else while we are there cause “it’s not on the list”. As we are shopping I’ll say okay next we need… He’ll say “why didn’t you get while we were in that aisle”. Yes I need a shopping list/floor plan combined!! Now give me your cookies.

  4. Liza says:

Anyone shopping with men and small children deserve cookies.

  5. Ashley says:

I try to avoid going shopping with my hubby or my son. However, one of the last times I took my son, I think he was 3 then, he came walking up to me with this mustard yellow handbag telling me how pretty it was! I laughed and told him if was going to go shopping with me again he had to get better taste in bags!!

  6. Terry L. says:

Gotta love that guy. At least he keeps it fun!

  7. trish c says:

My husband stands right behind me, no matter what I’m looking at (hey personal space mister), Maybe he wants to make sure I’ll save him from the bill????

  8. Jana says:

At least he doesn’t constantly ask you if you’re ready to go yet…lol

  9. catslady says:

I can’t even get mine to go with me and I do like company when shopping lol.

  10. Brandy says:

I take mine to haul all the heavy things. *G* It works out though, because when we visit Sams hubs and the kids eat their way through with all the samples. *G*

  11. WendyS says:

LOL! Try shopping with an engineer…or better yet, go out to dinner with him. Why? Because engineers have to analyze everything down to the finite details. Including giving the 3rd degree to the waiter/waitress as to exactly what ingredients/how is it cooked, etc. Or drilling the poor sales staff as to how long something has been on the shelf, where was it made, what materials were used…and then….trying to barter down the price! The man does not make a quick decision about anything! Hmmm…I wonder how long he analyzed before he asked me out on that first date! ;-)

  12. Donna M says:

Thankfully it has been some time since I shopped with a male person! My 13 year old grandson is actually fun to go with! Of course that was a couple of years ago. At least Alpha Man keeps life interesting!! ;-)

  13. Donna M says:

P.S. I am loving Double Play! Finally found enough time to read to really get into the story & the characters. Even though I’m not finished with it yet I am looking forward to the next one.

  14. Karin says:

I hate shopping in general, but having to shop with someone else usually takes longer and makes me like it even less. *sigh*

  15. Dee B says:

He’s a great guy – buy the puppy. You will never forget Mountain Barbie but it will help heal your heart.

  16. D says:

Shopping..with a man..??? I don’t think so, I’d rather stick needles in my eyes while having a root canal. I can relate to you and Wendy I’m married to an extremely alpha Engineer. He went to Home Depot Saturday to buy 2 bolts and was gone 4 hours and came home with not only the bolts but new tools(and a big smile). Whatever!!!
