Aw shucks

August 25, 2009 | Filed under: Stuff

Found out I’ve been nominated for Most Humorous Blog by Book Blogger’s Appreciation Week. You know, if I let myself think about the fact that I blog about my life, and that people seem to find my I Love Lucy adventures (or misadventures, depending on how you look at it) funny, it might make me just a little self conscious.

So I won’t think about it. I’ll just say thanks for reading and listening to the things that go on in Jill’s World. As for what’s going on today, it’s the last day before school starts, which means we’re going to sit by the lake and eat too much and in general bemoan and groan the fact that it’s over.

Sob! Tomorrow I return to the land of adulthood instead of the land of teenagehood that I’ve been living in all summer. Tomorrow I will for the first time in two months be alone in the house without music blasting, teens whining, and having to fight for the best chair on the deck.

Huh. Maybe it won’t be so bad after all.

  3. Liza says:

Sounds like you have a great plan for the last day of summer vacation. Hope y’all have an awesome day!

  4. Ashley says:

Well, you could still listen to the blaring music and sit in the good chair while you do it!
Have a great last day of vacation!
We are in our second week of 4K here and I’ve already gotten a phone call from the teacher, it’s gonna be a great school year!!!

  5. limecello says:

lol school starts? For the first time in a long time… I don’t really have to worry about the school year. It’s a bit odd (but so far, nice).

  6. Erin says:

I just got all mine off, the first time all three are in school. I feel a bit flustered because of the quiet. I mean what am I supposed to do without a kid needing/demanding my attention?

I think I’m going to find some cookies and a book and catch up on my reading, uninterrupted!

  7. Dee says:

My kids went back to school two weeks ago. The house is waaaay too quiet!

  8. Stacy ~ says:

Congrats on your nomination. No surprise there, it’s very well deserved. You are loved :)

  9. trish c says:

I can see why your nominated. You make us laugh, you make us cry (mountain barbie) and you share your incredible life with us. Not to mention you write some of the best romance that I have the privlege to read. You keep us entertained and for some a little less lonely.

Thanks Jill, I hope you win. You totally deserve it.

  10. D says:

Congrats on the nomination. Enjoy today with your girls. Think of me, I’m taking my 16 yr old (boy) shopping for new jeans. Ugh. I should be in rare form by tonight. We have to go to the mall because only the major dept stores carry his size(long!!!) He just turned 16 this week and ready has a 36 inseam and wears a size 12 shoe. If he doesn’t stop growing I’m cutting off his food supply!!!!!

  11. Donna M says:

Jill, I hope you are already at the lake enjoying the last day before school starts. Tomorrow you can enjoy the music of your choice and the best chair on the deck! Sounds perfect.

Congratulations on being nominated for the most humorous blog. The nomination is well deserved. I look forward to seeing what you have for us each day. You are a talented writer with a wonderful sense of humor & romance.

  12. Brandy says:

You almost make me wish I didn’t homeschool. *G* Enjoy your day!

  13. sls-rainey says:

Congrats! I think about lunch time you’ll be looking around the house trying to figure out why it’s so quiet.

  14. Susan says:

Where on earth Summer go? Have a wonderful day with your girls!

  15. Robin says:

Congrats! I love reading your blog! Hope you’re having a great day! My two boys go back to school on Thursday and my house will once again be quiet as well. At the moment, with five boys running around, then talking at a volume to rival a rock concert while they play XBox, I’m thinking Thursday is going to be a great day. At least until it hits me that I miss them.

  16. Crystal-Rain Love says:

You do have the greatest blog, Jill. It always puts a smile on my face.

  17. tennismom mary g says:

Congrats on the nomination. I know you’ll miss the girls but enjoy the quiet while you can.

  18. Patricia says:

Jill, Your blog always makes my day. You have such a wonderful sense of humor, but, with a RL sensibility.
