TGIF

August 21, 2009 | Filed under: Stuff

We’ve had some wild thunder and lightning storms. On my hikes, I’ve seen some fairly awesome damage. Look at this tree which was hit and knocked clear in half.

And then this virtual graveyard from a particularly violent storm.

But this one really drew me. Not sure why.

I know I was obsessed with the sky the last time I had my camera on my hike, but today, it’s poor, dead trees. My family probably wishes I’d be obsessed with things like laundry and putting food in the fridge, but I’m just not feeling it.

you go where your muse takes you.

  2. Stacy ~ says:

It’s fascinating what nature can do, and then leaves behind.

  3. Liza says:

Taking pictures of fallen trees is much more fun than laundry and grocery shopping.

  4. sls-rainey says:

We’ve had some wicked storms too. Better trees than the neighbors house. (it was unoccupied, they renovated and were ready to move in) Hopefully everything is wet enough that you don’t have to worry about fires.

Take care and keep avoiding that house work.

  5. trish c says:

The first picture almost looked fake. I think it is because it was so light and bright. Awesome shots.

  6. Donna M says:

Keep taking pictures for us, much more fun than laundry or anything else that is a necessity!!

One of the stores in town, catering to visitors, had men’s boxers displayed in the window. I thought of you when I saw the ones that said Alpha Dog with a dog on them! Maybe you want them for Alpha Man!!!  Couldn’t resist telling you about them!!

Everyone have a good weekend.

  7. Brandy says:

I think the trees are interesting! Besides laundry and food in the fridge is over rated. *G*

  8. Stephanee says:

I can smell the pine, just looking at your pics.

  9. D says:

Don’t worry about the laundry, it’ll be there tomorrow too…besides don’t you have teenagers, it’s your responsibility to teach them responsibility(lol). Think of it as character buiding  Food is overrated. Love the pics.

  10. Ashley says:

I am NEVER feeling the laundry, it’s awful. Cool pics.
And yes, way too much estrogen under one roof, has the hair pulling and claws come out yet?

  11. Dru says:

The bottom picture of the damaged tree reminds me of an alligator with its mouth open ready to feast.

  12. Kristina C says:

LOL! I love the last one also! OH tell your family you picked them just for the purpose of them doing there own laundry and grocery shopping!

  13. Mai says:

I love your pictures, whether they are sky or family or whatever. The last one made me think of a multi-legged crocodile. Very cool angle.

  14. tennismom mary g says:

When I’m in the mood to do housework & laundry I just go lie down & read until the feeling goes away.

  15. limecello says:

I’m definitely not feeling mundane things either, like… laundry or cleaning. Sadly that’s been going on for too long.
    Eek – poor trees!

  16. Kassi says:

I can’t get over the fact that you can just walk there! I live in the desert. My view is of sand and tumbleweeds…

  17. Karin says:

Wow. Those must have been some impressive storms. Since I love watching storms, I probably would’ve enjoyed being there to experience them.
