You know what never fails to touch me? The unwavering generosity and support I get from you guys. I got a box in the mail the other day, and when I looked inside, my heart stopped. Long-time blog reader Dru had hand quilted a pillow of Mountain Barbie.
Isn’t it gorgeous? Dru, it’s beautiful and thoughtful, and we are unbearably touched. The pillow sits on our bed, and every time I glance at it and see Mountain Barbie’s grin, it makes me smile.
(If any of you want to see some other quilts Dru has done, click here)
Now before you all go off to have a hopefully wonderful weekend, please tell us what you’re reading, and if you’re loving it.

What a thoughtful thing for Dru to do. You are a wonderful person, Dru. I found a couple of old books in our thrift store the other day. They are by Joan Wolf (of whom I have never heard). One is “Silverbridge” which is a contemporary and the other is “The Pretenders” which is a regency.Silverbridge was good and so far the Pretenders is also. Has anyone else read her books? Just wondering. Have a great day and hugs to all.

Wow! I would love to know how Drew did that. Beautiful. I would love to lean to quilt. I will have to get right on it. Maybe start with some books on the subject from the library.
I went to your site Drew and the rest of your quilts are gorgeous as well.

Ever since “Finger Lickin’ Fifteen,” I’ve been in a reading funk where nothing appeals to me-not even old stand bys like Linda Howard. I finished Stieg Larrsson’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” and it was ok.

What a wonderful, thoughtful gift from Dru. I bet it makes you smile every time you see it.
What am I reading? Recently I finished Julie Leto’s Kiss of the Phantom, very good. Currently I am reading The Soldier by Rhonda Nelson, a Blaze Uniformly Hot book. Also recently read Catherine Mann’s Hotshot & Samatha Hunter’s Hard to Resist, another Blaze. I am on a run of good reads! Can’t wait to go pick up your two new books.
Everyone enjoy the weekend.

I’ve read some Joan Wolf historicals. Good plot, IIRC.
Just finished Instant Attraction this afternoon and signed on to make sure there are sequels –YAY! This was my very favorite of the books I’ve read by you. The characters have so much depth and it’s neat how deftly you reveal their thoughts without losing the flow of the conversation. I also really appreciate your compassion and accuracy in showing how courageous Katie is in dealing with her PTSD. I am definitely recommending this book to all my friends!
I read Dodd’s Danger in a Red Dress yesterday and enjoyed how she tied two series together. Also read Carly Phillips’ Hot Property yesterday and started making my way through Corriher’s Bakewise, which has a truly amazing section of chocolate recipes. I was reading about pastry creams for the blueberry tarts I made today…
I have Colleen Thompson’s Triple Exposure in the pile, but it looks scary so I think I’ll read the latest Amanda Quick before bed instead. Always get great dreams from Krentz’s writing (except for one early book that still gives me nightmares — she writes TOO well sometimes!).
Dru’s quilting is wonderful. I like the photo layout and the background fabric is especially nice. What a treasure!

Dru, how nice of you; the pillow is great. How ever did you get the pix? Were you able to get copies from the site to do this? I am technically and craft challenged.

Dru. You couldn’t have picked a better picture as the centre piece to commemorate Mountain Barbie’s spirit. Your handmade gift is truly from the heart.
Just finished reading Rachel Gibson’a True Love and other disasters. Very entertaining & hot read.
