My camera is back in action

I love taking pics, almost as much a I do writing. But when Mountain Barbie died last month, it was like my muse died with her.
I couldn’t take pictures. I couldn’t even look at my camera. I went all month without it, and though I missed it . . .
Every time I thought about turning my camera on, I thought of Mountain Barbie, my favorite subject, and I got a sharp pain in my chest and gut and head and . . . everywhere. It physically hurt.
Then last night Alpha Man literally dragged my sorry ass with him when he took the kids wake boarding. Manhandled me onto the boat, with me whining the whole way. I had work, I had dishes, I had laundry. But did he listen? No, the man never listens. So I found myself on the boat, watching the kids laugh . . .
And something happened. I itched for the camera. Alpha Man handed it to me. Damn man. Reading my mind like that. It’s rude, that’s what it is. A fact I managed to forget when Middle insisted on giving me her Zoolander pose.
Hi to our reclusive Youngest, assisting her daddy in getting the tubes ready:
Hi Alpha Man. Get cracking on getting those tubes inflated.
And maybe Mountain Barbie wasn’t with us, with her silly wide grin, but we had Ashes.
As you can see, she takes her job as Watcher very seriously. Oh and here’s Middle, who has removed her own stitches and conveniently forgotten she still has a concussion. As she got into the water the last thing I said to her was “don’t jump”.
I shouldn’t waste my breath.
But at least my shutter finger is once again feeling happy.
