Do you know where my keys are? My head? Anyone?

I’ve been without a husband for 12 days going on what feels like a YEAR. And as you know if you’ve been reading my blog, I’ve had to deal with bears, mice, spiders and petulant teenagers. I’ve run out of cookies, locked myself out of my car, flooded a bathroom and accidentally shut the cat in the wood shop for a day.
It’s been fun.
Today I’m going to be packing for a writer’s conference in Washington D.C., and while I’m there, I will have to look and act professionally, sign books, make nice with the editors and agent, tape an interview for Borders Books, and manage not to embarrass myself if at all possible.
It’s going to be a challenge. I’ll bring my camera and my laptop and will be reporting live on all my I-Love-Lucy adventures, and I’m sure there will be many. I intend to stalk Janet Evanovich (she’s a keynote speaker) and Nora Roberts, two of my favorite writers, and hopefully not wilt in the eastern heat and humidity. I can only imagine what my squirrel’s tail hair will look like after two minutes there. Good times. Stay tuned.

Good luck and try to behave. I hope you don’t have too many I love Lucy Moments.

You’ll be missed this week Jill. I’m not making it to RWA this year
Can’t wait to hear all your adventures, but please be careful. See ya soon.

I would be in DC now if I hadn’t cancelled my plans. Instead, today will be my first day back in the office after two weeks off. *sigh*
I don’t wanna go.

Heat and humidity have been scarce around here this summer. It won’t be as bad as you think (I think). LOL!

When you get back we can compare notes- RWA and the Readercon I just came back from. Can you say UberGeek Alert? I am jealous. You will have actual people you can carry a normal conversation with around you.
Color me green. Nora and Janet??

Have a good time Jill. The key thing is too much. My hubby thinks they should make the clapper for keys to beep their location so I don’t have to look for them.

Have fun in DC. It’s one of my favorite cities to visit.

I’m packing for DC too. I’m bringing you a present, Jill. Not cookies, but I think you’ll like it.
BTW how roam around a room with so many authors you like without looking like a stalker? Hit the tables without lines or go for the ones with long ones first?
I’m staring at the workshops list. Gah… so many. Topping my list is J.R. Ward and Jessica Andersen’s chat and the one with Alyssa Day’s group.

Have a wonderful time, Jill! I can’t wait to read all about it. I would tell you to behave yourself, but what fun is that?!

Awe, have so much fun in DC, Jill! I love that city! (Though yes, the hear and humidity are killer.) I so wish I could go to RWA! Instead, I’m going to try to keep my nose to the grindstone.
Maybe my jealousy will keep me well buried in my horn books.

Have a great time at conference, Jill! Hey, maybe it will be a bear and spider-free zone.
BTW, just finished Double Play this weekend. Fun and entertaining. Can’t wait for Wade’s story! Cheers.

Have fun at RWA Jill. I’m sure we will enjoy your reporting. Good luck stalking Janet & Nora! Is Alpha Man coming home soon?
Border’s Rewards sent me a message to let me know that since I recently bought a book by Jill Shalvis I might like to know that Double Play is available on line or in the store! They must be anticipating me being in the store this week!!

Have a good time Jill. Just got Double Play and Instant Gratification in the mail over the weekend. Can’t wait to finish the current book I am reading so I can read them. Will let you know how much I loved them in a few days.

I hope to meet up with you, Jill! I’ll already in DC and it wasn’t too bad today. (And I was standing outside in the sun shooting guns, watching FBI trainees try to take down a bad guy and trying not to wander off and get myself accidentally shot!)
