It’s been one of those weeks. Oldest is back at UCLA. Alpha Man and Middle are traveling for a basketball tournament. So it’s just me and Grumpy– Er, Youngest.
Last night the bear made a reappearance, just sitting on my grass like he owned the joint. Why Alpha Man is never home when Pooh Bear on Steroids shows up, I’ll never know. When I tried to scare the bear away, he lay down and rolled in the grass like he had an itchy back. Like maybe he could care less that he had a crazy writer lady yelling at him.
And then he pooped in our yard. I’m sorry if that offends you but let me tell you what offends me. Mr. Big Ass Bear getting into my trash despite the three locks I have on the trash box, having him spread that trash across my yard and driveway AND THEN having him poop out a mountain. Who does he think is going to clean that up????
Later, I had to go into the basement to get some batteries and there in the sink was a little field mouse. Wriggling it’s little nose at me. I don’t do spiders and I sure as hell don’t do mice. And yet there sat Mickey Mouse, plain as day, hoping for cheese. Or whatever mice eat.
To top everything off, I went to turn on the sprinklers and there was a big ugly ass spider on the valve. By this point, I really just wanted to sit down and have a nice mature sob-fest. Instead I texted Alpha Man, informed him that his grass was going to be dead by the time he got back. Then I grabbed Grumpy and drove the forty-five minutes into town, heading straight for the movie theater. We saw The Proposal. Staring at Ryan Reynolds for two hours greatly improved my mood. That guy is FINE. And if he wasn’t married, and if he promised never to go out of town to leave me to deal with bears, mice, and spiders oh my, I’d want to have his babies.
So … what’s greatly improving your mood lately? A movie? A book? A hot guy? Cookies? Share your trade secrets.

YES YES and oh my YES. Ryan Reynolds…
Oh and I’m sorry you had a *a-hem* poopy day….:)

Yep he is cute. My mood has improved because I’m playing tennis outdoors now instead of indoors in the winter (downside the sun, you have to tie your hair back, wristband tanlines). The best is how many of my fave authors had books release this week – some with two JS. Double Play is so good – even the secondary characters are awesome. I just love the kids he hits with at the neglected park. I wondered whose sass inspired you there?

At first I thought maybe you ran into him jogging in the woods. LOL I have to go see this movie one of these days.
Been reading a lot of great books lately, Double Play was awesome. Loved it.
my best pick me up is my great niece Amya. 2 is a fun age.

books, a favorite movie, a favorite TV show and electronic toys will definitely improve my mood.

Reading a cute book called The Fixer Upper [Mary Kay Andrews] has improved my mood lately.

Ryan’s a cutie, no doubt about that, with a great body. He doesn’t make me swoon, but I see his appeal. Give me Gerard Butler or Jeffrey Dean Morgan any day of the week.
I picked up Double Play last night so that’s definitely a pick-me-up. Had dinner with a friend and yummy bella rose martinis. Another good thing LOL. And right now I’m sipping on a McD’s vanilla iced coffee. Send Gerard my way and I’ll be one very happy girl

I miss McD;s vanilla iced coffee…I haven’t had one in over a month, but might stop and get one today. Ryan is a cutie, but I agree with Stacy on Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Sorry the bears and spiders decided to visit with Alpha Man was gone. Books and playing on my Wii make my day better. Plus, some of the games on the Wii count as cardio and it’s fun.

I can’t wait to see that movie, he is a total hottie, and Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses.
Posted on July 9th, 2009 at 6:41 amI just had 3 Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast and that drastically improved my mood!

Shopping, unfortunately, is my pick-me-up lately. I can’t afford to do it long term, but it’s totally helping short term. Also, we’re big Scrubs fans in our apartment. That show almost always makes things right in the world for us.
I have a Sexy Friday theme every Friday on my blog and Ryan Reynolds was last month from when he was in Wolverine. I don’t usually like him, but YUM. I haven’t seen The Proposal, but maybe I will. I’ll have to see if I can fit it in before it goes away.

I must be living under a rock – gotta go google this movie! Hope today’s better for you.
As to what makes me happy – daycare. I love my munchkin, but it’s good for us to be apart 1 or 2 days a week. Restores the sanity.
Plus it gives him a place to go while Daddy’s at work and Mommy’s at Nationals next week. Yay!

I listened to Hit Parade by Lawrence Block and that made me smile quite a bit. Keller is a quite the character. Even better, the author reads his own book so you know you are getting exactly what he intended. It was awesome.
Solitude would make me very happy but I don’t see that coming my way anytime soon. A little peace and quiet.

Lets see, I’m new pregnant which means I’m throwing up everything so the two things which have helped have been books and then movies involving buff men, so I just finished “Instant Gratification” and loved it and buff men means I’m watching Vin Disel movies.
And loved The Proposal it made me laugh!!!
Hugs on your bad days Jill.

Spiders, bear & a mouse all in one day–oh my! You make me laugh! The bear leaving a deposit in your yard is not funny! Ick! Tell Alpha Man he has to come home.
I haven’t seen The Proposal but I do want to see it. That is my kind of movie.
May today be better than yesterday.

Knowing that there are no bears to tip my trash or poop in my yard just brightened my mood. The mice & spiders are still there….but I just make one of the boys deal with them.

What made my mood bright today is the fact the my Out-laws just picked up my kids and have taken them blackberry picking. It’s a two-fer. I get some free time and blackberries when they get home. *G*
Posted on July 9th, 2009 at 11:03 amSorry about your bad day. I suggest baking some cookies. *G*

I definitely want to see The Proposal. And Public Enemies… and Harry Potter whenever that comes out. And Up
but considering I only see 1 movie a year… we’ll see.
Posted on July 9th, 2009 at 11:19 amBut, I’ll probably have more time now since my study group essentially kicked me out. Heh. I’m still bitter. It’ll be ok tomorrow. :X
Kristen says:
Oh, I’m still waiting to see that movie. I can’t wait.
For improving the mood– chickens. Bantam chicks/hens to watch and listen to. Can’t stay grumpy watching Buffy and Henny do little chest bumps then run around the coop.
Sorry about the bear, the garbage, the poops, the spider and the mouse. I can send Cosmi-moto the cat for the mouse.

Shh! I’m reading Double Play by that Shalvis woman while I get over the shock of that dead car battery this morning.
And that Ryan Reynolds guy is FINE. We’ll draw straws.

Sorry to hear about your critter problem and being stuck with Grumpy. Suggest to grumpy that she go hang out at someone elses house. That always brightens my day when all my kids decide to abandon ship. God I love peace and quiet.

I’m not going to Girl Scout camp today — that’s enough to make me smile! I know I shouldn’t, after all my 8-year-old Brownie is all stuffed up and unhappy. But the knowledge that I won’t have to deal with 14 girls (picture cuteness and laughter combined with attitude, bickering and a couple of healthy whines) for 9 hours in the RAIN, with big-as-house mosquitoes and mud isn’t bringing me down at all.
Most days, though, a good book, a glass of vino and chocolate mousse do the trick when I need a pick-me-up.

My pick me up is music! If I am angry or frustrated over something on goes the “angry chic music” as my bro calls it.. And I start screaming along, generally after a couple of songs I start feeling better.. lol

Better than Ryan Reynolds is Ryan Renolds naked! And can I just say…. I want to look as good in a loofah as Sandra does. She rocks! SUCH a funny movie too.
Happiness is a new contract that pays sick amounts of cash that I just got offered…. working (4) tens and being my own boss. Loving all the tomatoes turning red on my vines and, like Kristen, the baby chicks that will be making organic eggs in about 4 months. Also looking forward to The Ugly Truth opening soon and getting a fix of Gerard Hubba!
Hoping your summer is more “bearable”. (wink)
