It’s been one of those weeks. A bazillion basketball games, most far away. A book due. The usual Mt. Everest of laundry. At least eight teenagers in the house at all times eating me out of house and home.
Stress City.
So when Finger Lickin’ Fifteen, Janet Evanovich’s latest book, arrived fresh from Amazon, I did the sensible thing. I put it away for another time.
Not really.
I locked myself on the deck, threatened everyone I knew with life and limb if they bothered me, and inhaled the book. If you’ve read it, I’d LOVE to hear what you thought. If you’re reading something, anything, please share. And let us know what you’re loving. Some of my favorite books have come from hearing your suggestions. So let ‘em rip!

I just finished two great books. Susan Andersen’s Bending the Rules and Victoria Dahl’s Start me Up. I have Double Play but some cookie eating author up next. LOL

Oh I inhaled Finger Lickin Fifteen as well. There were so many laugh out loud moments. I’m in the minority who wants Stephanie with Joe.
I just discovered Kyra Davis’ “Sophie Katz” chick-lit/mystery series and an enjoying these as well.

I finished Leslie Parrish’s (nee Kelly) Fade to Black and loved it. Now I’m reading Instant Gratification! Ever heard of it? I love those Wilder men

I’m getting ready to read One Reckless Summer by Toni Blake. She is a new to me author and I believe writes more erotica stuff (not usually my thing) but I kept hearing everywhere that this book is 5-stars for them so I found it and will inhale it shortly

I am not good with long series, I think I lost Stephanie around book eight.. boo
Posted on July 2nd, 2009 at 4:13 amAt the moment, I am buried under with work, so have just been inhaling some short ebooks.

I read Plum 15. Was almost more Lula’s book than Stephanie’s. Lula took over much of that book. Not to open the Joe v Ranger debate, but I think Stephanie is leaning toward settling down, don’t you?

I love long series, especially Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series. Also any of Susan Mallery’s series books are excellent.
I recently finished Susan Wiggs Fireside – very nice read and am finishing up Sherryl Woods Harbor Lights – 3rd in the series and nice light read.
Am waiting patiently to get Jill something or other’s Double Play – love baseball – Go Dodgers and they are and also Instant Gratification. I have about a million great reads (probably) on my tbr.

I’m currently reading the latest Stephanie Plum book.

I’ve been reading a lot of Sarah Mayberry lately – she’s excellent.
And then there’s this book that came out this week, “Just Try Me”. (Dunno who wrote that
) It’s one of my carrots for beating my own deadline. But I think my ed will kill me if I do what you did with the new JE!

Loved. Loved. Loved Plum 15. Dru I also want Stephanie with Joe. He’s so sweet. ArkCyndi I thought that maybe Ranger was the one who seemed like he was starting to maybe want to settle down with Steph.

Loved Susan Mallery’s 3 latest. Loved Julie James 2 books – do not read in public, you’ll laugh out loud.

I just finished “My Sister’s Keeper”. The movie previews looked so good, I wanted to read the book first. Let me just say this: I cried my eyes red. After reading the book, I won’t be watching the movie. I am reading “Hidden Currants” by Christine Feehan and it is excellent. The last of the Drake Sisters series. Now I am going to have to hit Amazon or a bookstore soon as my TBR pile is almost finished. Have a great day and hugs to all.

I’m currently reading an old SEP -First Lady and an ebook -Dir Sir, I’m Yours by Joely Sue Burkhart, then I’ll start with Instant Gratification and hopefully when I’m done with that they will have Finger Lickin Fifteen on Kindle by then, I’m sooo pissed that it wasn’t available on the release date. And after that some Double Play! I’m also looking forward to Lorelei James’ August release Shoulda Been A Cowboy.

Oh and Jill, about Plum 15, I’ve been reading some awful reviews on it, what’s your opinion?

I just finished (yes in two days) Instant Gratification! Fantastic! Now, I’m enjoying some old Nora Roberts books, until next week that is!

I’m in the middle of Pitch Black by Leslie Parrish. It’s the second in her Black CATs series and I’m liking it even more than Fade to Black(read it last week). I’m hoping to find both Instant Gratification and Double Play this weekend at the bookstore. It will be hard to pick which one to read first.

Dru, I’m in the minority with you regarding Steph and Joe!
I’m re-reading old favorites while waiting for INSTANT GRATIFICATION to show up from Amazon!

I bought Finger Lickin’ Fifteen the day it came out and was done by that night! I was laughing out loud throughout most of it. Especially the part when Lula got stuck out the window!!
(If you’ve read it, you know what I’m talking about.)
I also just read Swimsuit by James Patterson which was very good but somewhat terrifying as well.
Now I’m getting ready to start reading Instant Gratification!! I’m sure that it’ll be so good I won’t be able to put it down until I finish!

I am re-reading some old books and found some that I forgot were so good. I will have to tell you the titles some ohter time though because I am on break at work, after missing two days due to the flu. My brain will not function, much lessen remember.

I loved 15! It was great. I read it all in one day. I laughed so much reading that book. I favor Ranger myself, but I imagine when the series ends Stephanie will chose one but we won’t be told who she has chosen. Otherwise all the fans would riot.
I’m reading Pearl Cove by Elizabeth Lowell right now and I’m enjoying that. I like her stuff.
I recently read Just Sex by Susan Kay Law and enjoyed that a great deal. I do love a good bartender character. I reread Running Hot by Jayne Ann Krentz lately, too (there’s a great bartender in that one, too).

I’m in the middle of JoAnn Ross’ Breakpoint. She’s like my crack, LOL. I’m such a sucker for military guys.

Just finished yesterday and frickin’ loved it! I love Lula and with her front and center, making the BBQ with Grandma Mazur, getting shot at, shooting at people (and stuck in the car window), it was awesome!
I do have to (slightly) admit that I am getting a little tired of the back and forth with Stephanie lusting after Ranger, breaking up with Morelli, and then ultimately going back to Morelli after all.

I am totally with the minority (?) here: I want Steph to end up with Joe too. Actually stopped reading the books cause it seemed like a decision was NEVER going to be made on that, so yay for what sounds like a teensy bit of progress maybe?
Currently reading: Bending the Rules by Susan Anderson, next up: Instant Gratification.
Recommending: The Sugar Queen and/or Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. Love.

Read 15 over the weekend – and have held off on my review just because I know a few people who are reading it & I don’t want to spoil it for them. Luckily you opened the door here so I can quietly say ..not my favorite. I’m tired of Lula and the chemistry between Steph & her love interests has really fizzled out.
I did pick up One for the Money – as an audio – from the library to give it a listen after finishing 15 and I have to say 15 doesn’t even begin to live up to the fantastic voice in 1. This doesn’t mean I won’t read 16 or a new between the numbers; I just won’t clear my schedule for it.

Hey, Jill! I haven’t read a Plum book in years, but I’m reading two books concurrently right now because I want to read both! I’m reading Robyn Carr’s 6th Virgin River book on my Kindle and Victoria Dahl’s START ME UP in paper. I’m enjoying both tremendously!
Oh…and by the way, I’m in the minority, too. After reading up to 8 of the Plum books, I was totally rooting for Joe.

Last few books I’ve read…
Instant Gratification by dunno… some cookie loving fiend.
I Shot you Babe by Leslie Langtry is a hilarious fourth in the Bombay assassin family series. This time it’s Coney Island.
Rhonda Nelson’s The Soldier, her current Blaze, about a wounded Spec Ops soldier. Love my military guys.
Now I blame you Jill. I promised that I’d pick up a Stephanie Plum novel a few months back. Just read One for the Money. Just like a crack addict, I wound up picking up books 2-14 yesterday. I’m liking Morelli, but damn Ranger is hot. I’ll probably reading one of them on the plane trip to DC.
Currently reading Mark of the Demon by Diana Rowland. She’s a detective and a summoner working a serial killer case. I’ve heard so much buzz prior to the release of this one and I had to pick it up. Of course I dropped the second a Wilder brother dropped in.

I just finished a new book..it’s titled Instant Graticfication, by Jill Shalvis(???), ever heard of her. By the way great book I absolutely fell in love with Stone. I’m getting ready to start 15, but kids sports are calling(damned kids). I think I’ll sneak to the beach tomorrow and work on my tan while I read 15(I’ll have to leave my cell phone off so no one can find me.)

You caught me between books!
Recently read Tori Carrington’s Branded, enjoyed it. Love their work! I am not planning to read 15 as I read the first 2 books and don’t think I could muddle through more of them. Some of her other books have made me laugh!
I called Border’s this morning to see if Instant Gratification was on the shelf, they saved me a copy. It is a good thing because I did not find another copy on the shelf or on any of the displays. The library also had Karen Rose, Kill for Me so I picked that up also. Since it is a library book I am probably going to read that one first. Sorry!
My plans for the weekend are to do a whole lot of reading as I have new books by Carly Phillips, Julie Leto, Rachel Gibson and Susan Anderson to read. Oh yea, also one by Catherine Mann. Wow, there are way to many books out I want to read & me with a tiny budget until later in July.

I’ve done a bit of reading this week – and not just in my programming textbook. Of those that I read this week, my two favorites are Falling for Mr. Dark & Dangerous by Donna Alward and The Devil Inside by Kate Davies.

Mostly reading textbook chapters — american illustration and calligraphy/letterform, can you stand the excitement?
For fun, just finished Grania, by Morgan Llwelyn. The woman is pure genius with historical fiction/fact. Following the remarkable life of she-king of the Irish pirates Grace O’Malley. Just started Llywelyn’s Finn MacCool. My eldest puppy is named after the Irish legend, so it seemed a good choice to read. Also working my way through May’s Blazes on my Kindle.

Loved it, but now i have to wait 6 whole days for ‘Double Play’!?! Looking forward to TJ’s story
And another one that comes out that day is Linda Howard’s ‘Burn’. Good think i’m on vacation.
Posted on July 2nd, 2009 at 6:32 pmIn the meantime, I’m currently reading ‘Deadlock’ from Iris Johansen. Very good read so far.

I’m in the middle of reading Anna Windsor’s Bound by Shadow, Bound by Flame, Bound by Light. I have not read Windsor before and must say that I can’t put the books down. Uh-oh. Paranormal.

So glad you asked this question. Also, so glad my laptop if finally working again. 2 weeks with the slowest desktop computer ever just about killed me.
I just got the last copy of Instant Grat at Barnes and Noble. It is the first time I have ever found a Jill Shalvis book there.
I am hoping to read it tommorrow night at work. Yes, I have to work on the 4th of July. Life just sucks, sometimes. lol
I love all of the Stephanie Plum books. Love lulu, but Grandma Mazur is the hoot of all time. Love her.
Posted on July 3rd, 2009 at 7:51 pmJill knows I’m rooting for Joe. Ranger is just for heat. Joe is there for the long haul.

One of the best books read so far this summer was Toni Blake’s ONE RECKLESS SUMMER. I also enjoyed Jordan Dane’s EVIL WITHOUT A FACE, though the premise is rather chilling. Now I’ve picked up a re-release by Kay Hooper, LARGER THAN LIFE.

Another vote for Robyn Carr’s “Virgin River” series. I’ve read them all (to this point), but, can’t wait for 3 more due to arrive in 2010. These characters really have grabbed & touched me, particularly, Mel & Jack, two of the most strong, interesting & caring characters I’ve ever read.

I am reading Fade To Black by Leslie Perrish…..loving it. I hope she has lots of luck with this new series. It is fabulous.
I put Finger Lickin’ Fifteen aside to read FTB. That’s how much I have been yearning for it’s release.

One Reckless Summer was great, as are most of her books. Another author I love is Megan Hart (she writes Erotica but not all her stories have a typical HEA ending), all her books are amazing but my favorite is her first novel, Dirty. An all time favorite of mine is Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.
