Sisterly love. Sort of.

Middle is VERY happy to have Oldest back. Mostly because she’s taller and likes to flaunt it.

Oldest pretends not to mind.

She also pretends not to miss us, but I know she did.

Mountain Barbie was watching the shenanigans and was her usual confused self.

Also, I would like to point out before you ask that yes, this is the Sierras and yes it was maybe 45 degrees and yes that’s Oldest in shorts. She seems to think she’s an LA girl now, sigh … Oh and if anyone happens to have the secret to making time stand still, could you pass it onto me? I’d like this week to not end, thank you very much.

Sorry, I want this week to be over. My daughter went on a school trip to Virginia for four days. Virginia, by the way, is over 600 miles from home.
What in the hell was I thinking letting my ten year old go over 600 miles from home without me?
(This is why I’m still awake at 5am. I’ve been painting her bedroom to distract myself. Is it Friday yet?)

Aw, so sweet, though very devious, I’m sure.
Yeah, I kinda want the week to be over, too. And spring to actually arrive and stay for more than 5 minutes. But that’s just me.

You gotta love sisters. They love each other to death one minute and are plotting the other’s death the next. Hope you can make time stand still in you area of the world.

Ahh…sisterly love..so sweet.
Well maybe Oldest is hoping for Spring in the Sierras. I do think I see a hint of green grass in the pic of MB..could it be..possibly..maybe..?

This week is passing much too quickly for me – our youngest is home on break too. Surprisingly, we are entering our fifth day without any “sisterly” incidents – no picking, arguing or stomping off in anger. There’ve been a few eye rolls, but that’s pretty much required at our house.

So nice to see the girls hugging. My daughter won’t allow hugs too often, and rarely from her little brother, who adores her.
If it was 45 degrees here we would be wearing heavy coats and complaining.
I want to hear about how you got the car opened yesterday…

Nice to see them having fun and not at each others throats! Hope the rest of the week creeps by slowly for you.

My younger sister is a lot taller than I am (this is not hard because I’m really short). The good news is people totally think she’s older than I am. It’s AWESOME especially when she turned 30 last winter. I just told her people already think she is so no big deal. Oh, sisters.
Those girls need pants and a jacket. There, that’s all I’m going to say. BRRR

No, there’s no green grass yet. It’s hard to tell from this picture because the deck is a second level deck but there is still four feet of snow on our grass …

My sister and I got along better after she left for college (and who’s taller is still debated, were practicly the same height)
Good luck on the time thing but pease keep it in your area.

I’m torn, grumpy(i mean hubby) is working from home this week, but first born is home for spring break. The boy child likes to sneek up behind her and give her bear hugs,
youngest has been overly sweet(she only wants to use first borns laptop)
Hope time stands still for you.

So sweet.
No idea how to make time stand still, but I’ll keep checking back in case someone else knows….

At least they sort of get along. My sister and I fought like cats and dogs. And we still do even tho we’re 400 miles away from each other.
Maybe when we’re little ole ladies we’ll get along!

If you figure out the secret to time standing still please share. I have two really great kids who keep getting older and older. My daughter is going to start high school this fall. *sigh*

OTOH – Congratulations, Jill, on your RITA nomination for novella All He Wants for Christmas in Heating up the Holidays! You go, girl. Woot! Woot! I’m touching my copy right now and chanting RITA! RITA! RITA! But I’m kind of weird that way.

Love the pictures. I love seeing my daughters together as adults, just to sit while listening to their conversations. I’m so proud of both of them. I loved them as little girls, love them as adults. I must have done something right!!
Time doesn’t stand still, just enjoy each moment you have.
Spring is here in my corner of the world. All week the temps are suppose to be in the 70′s, everything is green, blooming, about to bloom, budding, it is down right lucious.

They look a lot like my sister and I. I’m glad you’re enjoying your time with Oldest.

The shorts didn’t throw me off since I’m married to a shorts and flip-flop man no matter what the weather is. She’d fit right in at our place.
Enjoy your visit. Take a bazillion pictures and make a book from the visit to remember it all by. That’s what I like to do.

It looks like no time has passed since they last saw each other.
I have no idea how to halt time or I’d be 16 still! My suggestion is to take lots of photos and/or ground her from leaving home until she turns 31.

Aww…ain’t (sisterly) love grand. They’re probably doing a lot of jumping up and down this week, considering the RITA noms announced today. Congratulations!

They are sooo adorable! I don’t blame you for not wanting the week to end with all that teenagery cuteness!
