I never get tired of the sunsets up here. The skies seem so much bigger in the Sierras than they ever did in LA. Don’t get me wrong, I still miss LA. I miss the traffic and smog and crowds.
Okay, I don’t miss those things.
But I missed Oldest until last night when we picked her up at the airport. She’s home for spring break from UCLA. She’s tired from finals so she’ll probably sleep for four days before I see her again, but that’s okay. It gives me time to hide the cookies.
Oh! And guess what I got in the mail yesterday.

My Advanced Reading Copies of INSTANT GRATIFICATION. Interested in one? If you’re willing to read and write a review and post it either at your blog or a reading blog you visit, or at Amazon and/or BN, or wherever, be sure to leave a comment here and I’ll draw a few names.
Update:
Winners are Judy F and Laurie, congrats! Email me with your addys! And for everyone else, stay tuned, I’ll be giving away two more ARCs next week, and two more the week after that, and . . . well, you get the picture!

I also hope you protect the cookies!
Do I get it right that ARCs mean the pub date is not that far away? If I weren’t in Germany I’d shout “Here!” for an ARC right away, but I am, so I’ll just try to be patient… (Okay, I suck at patience, I admit it

I know what you mean about hiding the cookies. I still have not found a good enough hiding place to where my husband or 6 year old will not find them. I would love to read the book and post to amazon.

Yay on having oldest home – I’m so happy for you!! My hubby is on the road right now to pick up our youngest for spring break – I can’t wait to have her home for an entire week!
As for IA, I don’t think I even need to say out loud that I’m interested – you can read my mind, right?? lol
Have a great day and a terrific weekend!

So, I have seen other authors do this, and I have always been hesitant about volunteering….
Posted on March 20th, 2009 at 6:47 amWhat is involved in a review? Are there any criteria of what needs to be talked about? Am I over complicating this like I do everything else in my life?
Patty L. says:
I going on vacation in two weeks so a copy of Instant Gratification would be wonderful to lie by the pool with. I would happily write a review at Amazon and B&N.

I’m just wondering Jill what you think of the cover of Instant Gratification. The guy here doesn’t do it for me. I know you don’t have any say in it. Just wondering about your opinion. This won’t stop me from reading it, but really I think they should have put Alpha Man on there. lol

I’m so glad that oldest is home. There is no better feeling than having all your chicks under the same roof safe and sound!! It is so hard to let them go and let them grow up.

Jill, I feel the same way about the sky in Denver. It seems like it’s so much bigger than any of the other places I’ve been and it makes me very happy that I live there. Not to mention that the sunsets over the mountains are fantastic.
As for the book, I would definitely be willing to write a review and post it on Amazon or B&N since I don’t have a blog of my own.

My sister got me hooked on your blog… it’s more entertaining and fun than I knew a blog could be! Your books must be awesome! I’d love to read your newest book. As much as I love to read (I’d rather read than sleep, and usually DO), I’m sorry to say I haven’t read any of your books yet. (What?!) I’ve looked for your books in local stores but can’t find you there, so will make an effort to get to the local library. (It’s never on my way anywhere, hence my recent $38 late fee for overdue books accrued in 2008.) Sigh.
As a “virgin” reader of your books, I think this should catapult my name to the top of the list to review your book, don’t you think?
