My daughter doesn't go to till next year, and I am bracing myself now for it since I am single and she's my only. Actually, ninth grade hit me pretty hard. Letting them go to fly on their own just plain sucks. Something that has helped me even now as my daughter spends more time with her friends is to spend more time with friends and family. I have a best friend whose son is in college this year, and we hang together on weekends when our kids are out. We also go to as many of their activities as we can. Our kids are both cheerleaders. By the way, I am so excited that you are sending me the books with the new hot covers!!! My SASE is on the way. Thank you so much!!!! I so feel your grief about your daughter going to college. I still remember my parents dropping my sister and me off at college. We attended the same university, so it was nice to have my sister around. I didn't even realize my parents had left until I tried looking for them. I remember being bummed that they hadn't said goodbye. :( Maybe they did, and I just didn't hear them.
