Youngest at the dinner table:
“So I’ve been watching True Life, the episode called: I Have Embarrassing Parents, and it turns out you guys are only mildly embarrassing.”

Alpha Man:
“This is good to know, because a boy came to the door for you yesterday and I told him to come back when you were thirty-five.”

  4. Dru says:

    LMAO…gotta love Alpha Man (Dad)!

  5. Ashley says:

lmao, poor Youngest, 35 must be the magic number with dads and daughters and dating!

  6. Liza says:

Alpha Man is so funny! My bil is a cop, so he likes to be in his uniform when guys show up. He swears that on prom night he will have his riot gear on when the guy picks up Oldest.

  7. Patty L. says:

Alpha could be my husband’s twin. LOL My hubbie made my daughter sign an agreement when she was in 3rd grade to not kiss a boy until got married or age 35 which ever came first. LOL Now that she is in 7th grade and she is noticing more boys she is talking about reneging on the agreement. LOL

The moral of the story just be glad Alpha did have your girls biding to any contracts. LOL

  8. ArkansasCyndi says:

Don’t you love when your stories write themselves? LOL

Wasn’t it Charles Barkley who suggested killing the first boy who showed up for his daughter? Said it’d make the rest of them fall in line. :rotfl: :rotfl:

  9. Laurie says:

Is there a father who *doesn’t* feel this way? My hubby doesn’t think any of the “little bastards” are good enough for his girls.

  10. Jill says:

ArkansasCyndi, lol!!! I hadn’t heard that one.

  11. Amy says:

ROFLMAO! Oh, Alpha Man is GOOD!

  12. Stephanee says:

No wonder you have such good dialogue in your books – you get it at home everyday!

  13. Nell Dixon says:

 Laughing at this, as I have three daughters too and have similar conversations in our house.

  14. Treasia Stepp says:

:rotfl: Love Alpha Man’s quick thinking on that one. It’s a wonder our daughters ever have a date.

  15. Susan says:

Alpha Man must have been naughty when he was a teenager! :wigglebrow:

  16. Jill says:

He wrote the book on naughty.

  17. Suzanne says:

LOL, that’s good news that you are only Mildly embarrassing!!

  18. Amanda says:

    Hehe… like it.

Your blog never fails to make me grin… thanks! :bananadance:

  19. Donna M says:

Love today’s blog! I raised two daughters and can relate! The reason all men are like that with their daughter’s is because they were once teenage, hormone driven boys—need I say more!! :rotfl:

Great blog today Jill, thanks for the laugh!

By the way I had not heard about the Charles Barkley comment, it made me laugh even more!!

  20. Ang says:

 That is funny. Dads are so protective of their little girls.

My husband said he liked the quote from actor Sean Penn on prepping his 15-year-old daughter’s dates: “I tell them that whatever they do to my daughter that night, they better be prepared to come home and do it to me too.”

  21. kim h says:

yep that is funny, saw that epsiode

  22. limecello says:

    LOL I love it.

  23. Brandy says:

When our Daughter was born hubs started talking about buying a taser. *G* She’s 13 this year. God help us. *G*
    Alpha man is awesome!

  24. Cryna says:

Loved Alpha Man’s response. I think all Dad’s are like that - brings to mind the song from Rodney Atkins - Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy) :rotfl:

  25. abby says:

Hahaha! I love your blog. There’s never a dull day in your household. :rotfl:

Ang- I know someone, who uses that same Sean Penn quote!

  26. Cassie says:

Alpha Man’s so hardcore and awesome!

A few days before my sister’s wedding, my dad went up to her then fiancé, now husband, and told him it was too late to run and if he did, my dad and his two brothers along with a large number of male relatives would hunt him down.

Loved Flashpoint. That twist at the end… dude. I was hoping it wasn’t but it was.

How in the world do you get those juicy Blaze cover models? Lucky girl, you.

  27. Jill says:

I have no control over the covers but I have been very lucky.

  28. Karin says:

    :rotfl: Alpha Man is great.
