I forgot how much I loved San Francisco. It’s gloriously cool, sharp blue skies, and people asking for money on every corner . . .
So different from where I live now. This morning before I got on a plane, I went for a quick walk. This was my view:

When I got into San Francisco, sans ANY MAKE UP BECAUSE I’M AN IDIOT, I had to take a little walk about to Walgreens. Here was my new and quite different view:

This morning to get to the airport, my driver had a bit of an attitude:

And then, in San Francisco, my cabbie didn’t have an attitude. He just DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. My God. My heart is still pounding.

Here was the view out of town this morning:

And here’s the view from my hotel. Just a little different, each with their own merits:

This view doesn’t come with the voices my house does, the ones that say things like “Mom, where’s my key?” or “Mom, she’s looking at me!” or “Honey, have you seen my wallet?”
But I sure do miss those voices . . .

I love San Francisco. All the shops, little restaurants, the cable cars and especially the victorian architecture. I could walk up and down those streets all day, especially California St.
Enjoy your stay, recharge your batteries if you have the time, and i’m sure you’ll find a bakery that sells fresh out of the over cookies. Get a dozen…or 3, and go to the Zoo.
Take care!

Have a great time in San Fran, returning to the voices will happen sooner than you think. BTW your home pictures look much more inviting, but somehow the excitement that I get looking at the San Fran pics make me regret not savings so that I could go this year.

Hope you have a wonderful time in San Francisco. You just made me aware of something I didn’t know I was afraid of before… big cities!

Jill, glad you are enjoying yourself in SF. I looked for you yesterday at the signing, but I don’t think I saw you. I had Girl Scout cookies ready, too. Perhaps another time. The signing was a bit overwhelming at first–too much stimulation.

I would have LOVED to see you and the cookies, trust me. I’ll be at the Harlequin and Berkley signings tomorrow. Both are 3-4:30 and I’ll be starting at Berkley and then moving to the Harlequin one halfway through. Hope to see you, Jill

Jill, I was told the Harlequin signing is not open to the public (only conference attendees). Do you know if that’s true? If so, BUMMER!

Hi Jill

Posted on July 31st, 2008 at 3:15 pmTo those of you that visit everyday or often…I had a Jill sighting!! I was on my cell with another author & I saw Jill come within a few feet of me & I hollered, “Jill”. She was nice enough to stop even though she was running late for a signing. We talked briefly, she invited me to the signing!! I got to go to a Blaze signing, brought along two other people, the person I was on the phone with & another RWA attendee that I know from another blog. Jill is warm, wonderful & friendly. If you ever get the chance to meet her you will understand. She graciously signed two books for me, the Blaze from the signing, the books were free, & one I brought with me in hopes of seeing her & getting to say “Hi”.
Thanks again Jill, it was such a pleasure. I knew you immediately!
If any of you ever get to attend an RWA book signing by all means go. It is quite the experience. The book signing is open to the public (the big one held Wednesday evening) all proceeds from the sale go to a literacy charity. Can’t beat that.
I know I’ve rattled on a long time. Thanks for letting me tell you how much fun it was.

Loved the pictures - but like the ones from home better. Hope you are having a fabulous time. Enjoy your time away from the voices, you will be home with them soon enough……..

Not that I’m stalking you at all, Jill, but I might’ve seen you in the hotel lobby today. That might’ve been my Jill sighting.

I live in “East Bay”… that’s all the stuff on the other side of the Bay Bridge heading out of SF. I have deer who sleep under my front steps and views of the mountains and all those other lovely things. I try to avoid “The City” as SF likes to call itself.
