I’m trying to read a set of galleys, go over a set of copy edits, put the finishing touches on a proposal for my editor, get the laundry done, get my car fixed, all while trying not to talk myself out of going to a writer’s conference in San Francisco tomorrow . . . my head feels like it just might explode, and here is Ashes with her one simple need. To be with me.
Or correction, to have me throw the ball.
I couldn’t resist, of course, and ended up on the grass with her for a half an hour that I shouldn’t have spared. But I’m so glad I did. So here’s my words of wisdom today: remember to slow down and smell the flowers! (And throw the ball . . .)

Ah Ashes is such a sweetie. Does tossing the ring off the milk carton at 2 am count? My cat Sammy wanted to play at that hour. LOL

What a cute pic! We all need a little quality time with our best bud sometimes - it’s good for the soul!

Tess and Kipp agree with Ashes.
Especially Kipp. Kipp is fetching machine. Tess prefers tug games, especially with the toys meant for fetch. This annoys Kipp, who will go get the frisbee from her and bring it to me, putting the frisbees in a tidy little herd at my feet.
“I bring,” he says, “You throw now.”

Ashes is a sweetie. Have you been spending more time with the other pets and ignoring her? Have fun in San Francisco. It will give you a break and the fans a chance to meet you. We (like Ashes) need to connect occasionally. Wish I could attend but I live on the other side of the country. I will be in Monterey for the month of Nov. when daughter has her baby girl. That is a lot closer to you than NC. Have a safe trip, relax, refresh and have fun. Hugs to all.

Who could resist that face, with those big eyes? Glad you spent quality time with Mountain Barbie.
I’m heading off to SFO tomorrow morning, but I’ll try to stop by and say “bye” before I leave.

That is such a great reminder! I wanted to say that I really enjoyed FLASHPOINT. What a surprising villain. And sad, to say the least.
OT, I’m looking for authors who maintain character blogs (MC’s from novels with their own space on the internet like this one–http://1800snitch.wordpress.com). Please contact me through my author site if you know of anyone, or just pass the message on. Thanks.
