Ah, that felt good

July 5, 2008 | Filed under: Stuff

I slept in. First time in FOREVER. Gotta tell you, I don’t care that the cat is pissed and the dog had an accident and the raccoon got in again.

I.

Slept.

In.

Only until 8, but still. Better than the 5:30 or 6:00 o’clock that I’ve been facing for so long I can’t remember what SOLID sleep feels like! So we went to the lake yesterday and the pic isn’t great (sorry it’s so dark!) but I thought you might enjoy this shot of my cookies. On the beach. More important than sunscreen.

We stayed until very very late. Which might actually, when I think about it, negate the whole sleeping ’til eight thing since I didn’t shut my eyes until two.

Huh.

Anyway, at the beach I ate three hotdogs, an entire bag of chips and tons of salsa, cookies, cakes, pies . . . wow. I’d better go for a hike today, huh?

We ended the night by laying on the beach and watching the most amazing fireworks show I’ve ever seen. Sigh . . . a perfect end to a great day. You?

As for today, I’ll be finishing my book. I figure it I said it, if I put it out there in the universe, it would have to be true . . .

This is the first comment?!! Where is everyone? Enjoying the weekend, I hope!

Jill, you know you can finish the book today. Yesterday you got to play so today your creative juices are probably rushing through your system. Have a good day writing.
 It sounds like you had a wonderful 4th! The only fireworks I saw were on TV but I got to watch 3 different displays–no complaints. :bananadance:

  2. Gena says:

The fireworks look great!! Sounds like you had a nice day. I ate Keebler Grasshopper cookies. They made me sick. I still ate another this morning though.

  3. Maureen says:

Hi Jill……Looks like you had a fabulous day!!

I did absolutely nothing which was glorious–and ate myself into a coma. Then went out last night looking for fireworks and only caught a few. Too many laws against the fun stuff……so I really enjoyed your picture of the show you saw!

  4. Judy F says:

Happy day after the 4th. Sounds like you had a great time.

I just layed around all yesterday. Would have liked to have slept in some but my cat has an I am hungry alarm. LOL

  5. Allie says:

I watched fireworks streaming live on my computer last night. :) I had to wear headphones so they did not scare my dog. :)

Our peculiar community has fireworks on the 3rd instead of the 4th, and we missed them because there was rain and thunderstorms. We did not want to sit out in that.

  6. Karen Erickson says:

Ah so beautiful! We went up on our neighbor’s property and watched fireworks going on in three different areas so that was kind of cool. But then the kids got tired so we went home. And ate brownies. Yum.

I’m sure you’ll finish that book! Yay! :bananadance:

  7. Jill says:

I will try to upload more pics of the fireworks later because they were amazing. At the moment, I’m writing while mentally cleaning my house because we have friends coming over for a bonfire and ’smores later. God help me.

  8. Judy F says:

Hey Jill let me know how that mentally cleaning your house works. I could use that badly… LOL

  9. Amy says:

    Great pictures.

Hey, if sitting in the shade, eating cookies keeps you out of the sun? WAY better than sunscreen.

Uh, is it really possible to clean the house without leaving your desk? I so want in on that!

  10. Cryna says:

Sounds like you had a terrific day, and I love the picture of the fireworks. Enjoy the ’smores later…..and the bonfire…….

I noticed you said the raccoon got in again - I hope he/she never made a big mess again - how did he manage to get in again….

  11. Brandy says:

    Sounds like an ideal day!

  12. Laurie says:

Glad you had such a great day - and got some extra rest! I was up at 6:30 this morning and decided to just “lay there” another 30 minutes or so - woke up at 9:45 - aack. Now I feel like half my day has been wasted and I’m trying to catch up!

    Yay on the book!

  13. Susan says:

I’m so glad your having a great holiday!

  14. Jemima says:

We could just barely see the flash of those fireworks from our perch above Lake Genevieve! Simons and I were counting constellations and I said, “My vision keeps getting hazy.” And Simons said, “Me too!” And then I went, “What night is this? Oh, it’s FIREWORKS!” I bet they were beautiful over the lake.
