Things you should not do while high on prescription cough syrup:

May 10, 2008 | Filed under: Stuff

1. Believe that you can beat your husband at pool. Specifically get cocky, trash talk, and promise all sorts of things if he beats you, which of course he then does. Easily.

2. Eat an entire bag of ranch flavored Doritos and an entire rack of Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies. Then drink a soda, which will expand everything in your gut and revolt. ‘Nuff said.

3. Go to sleep on your back on the deck in the sun, where you will do something you normally do NOT do while healthy, which is snore loud enough to wake the dead. And make all your peeps laugh at your expense.

4. Think you should be a singer, and then try to prove it to your family by singing along with the American Idol hopefuls.

5. Apply to go on the next Survivor because you think you can win the million bucks (um, CBS? Ignore my application please. I’m not known to do well without my daily allowance of cookies)

I’m assuming you can drink alcohol?

Try a hot whisky toddy — it’ll cure whatever ails you — hot tea, a shot of single malt whisky, a teaspoon of honey, a slice of lemon with cloves in it, and a cinnamon stick.

You’ll be fine in no time.

    Seriously, it helps the throat.

I’m sure I have more remedies, but my herbals are still all in storage.
