Meet Izzy

February 26, 2008 | Filed under: Stuff

We call her Mountain Barbie, on account of her being so beautiful and all, and just a tad bit . . . well, let’s just say that she’s not the sharpest tool in our shed.

But she does have her beauty. She believes in promoting world peace, eradicating poverty, and bringing art and music back to our schools.

And when she grows up, she wants to be the first female brown lab president of an animal shelter nearby. She thanks you for your vote.

  1. Judy F says:

I would vote for her. I can’t believe how big she has grown. Soon she will be taller then you. j/k

  2. Stacy ~ says:

Okay, maybe she’s not the smartest pup on the block, but she’s got a big heart, she’s ambitious and she’s obviously very affectionate and playful. What’s not to love? Izzy has my vote too.

  3. Elizabeth K says:

Being the mother of a “Suburbia Ken” over here, I totally hear you. I affectionately (and sarcastically) call him my little Mensa candidate. But he’s the sweetest, most loyal dog in the world.

  4. Kim A. says:

I’ll vote for her; she’s gorgeous. And no doubt she’s smarter than most of our politicians. (Remember, I’m in Canada, but at the risk of offending, I’d say that applies to politicians everywhere!)

    -Kim

  5. Anne says:

She really is gorgeous, isn’t she? Such a beautiful coat… and those eyes. I bet she’s a lover. She’s got my vote.

  6. Stephanie says:

She IS beatiful! And you’re a HOOT! :rotfl:

  7. Patty L. says:

Izzy is beautiful. Of course she will win by a landslide in any election that she chooses to participate.

  8. naomi says:

She’s so pretty. Sleek and soft – I want to reach through the screen and pet her. :)

You know, she’s got a great campaign going. Izzy for president. Yeah, that’s got a good ring to it.

  9. Liza says:

Izzy has my vote! Even if she isn’t one of the sharpest tool in the shed, I bet she is the sweetest.

  10. Asthmagirl says:

Interesting platform. I’ve seen her do dishes, so I know she’s selfless. Before I vote, I need to know one thing…. Can she cook?

  11. Bailey Stewart says:

My brother once had a Spaniel that we jokingly said if you attached a stick to her, she’d make a good mop.

    Izzy has my vote.

  12. Dee says:

She’s beautiful and sweet. Dogs are also loyal and forgiving. What’s not to love? I am a huge dog lover. My next dog will have to be a lab.
    Dee

  13. Suzanne says:

She’s so pretty! And she’s GROWING!

  14. Jill says:

At four and a half months, she’s now the size of Ashes. And given her paws, she’s got a LOT more growing to do.

    Oh boy.

  15. Robin says:

    She’s got my vote!

  16. lintys says:

DH had an elderly chocolate lab when we met. Definitely not the sharpest crayon in the box. He was very sweet though.

I have a 7-yr-old black lab mix who’s beautiful, very smart, and pure sweetness. He stole my heart when he was a puppy, and I had always been a cat person before I fell in love with him.

  17. Cryna says:

Izzy gets my vote. She is really sweet, but you are right Jill she is going to get a whole lot bigger.

  18. Melissa's Cozy Teacup says:

Thanks for the comment.Being sick totally messed up my taste buds. i made some scones yesterday and spiced them up so I could taste them better. I hope things get back to normal soon. Feel better! I’m sending virtual pb,oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies your way. The oatmeal allows them to be consumed for breakfast and the chocolate chips have antioxidants!

  19. Brandy says:

Awww, Izzy is adorable and has my vote as well!

  20. Donna M says:

What a beautiful dog! I’d vote for her! I think you are right Jill, she will get bigger!! A chocolate beauty!

  21. jeanne says:

(Melissa the same has happened to me – I lost my taste for coffee – I live on coffee normally).

I’ll take sweet over brains anyday  Izzy is just the most gorgeous thing. I do miss having a dog some days but with 6 cats…

  22. Susan says:

Izzy has my vote! She is beautiful.

  23. Laurie says:

She is beautiful – her coat looks so shiny and healthy! A girl can get away with not being so bright if she’s pretty. My girls like to tease me that my youngest cat is a little on the slow side – I tell them that she’s just feline challenged – she acts more like a dog than a cat.

  24. Allie says:

    She’s adorable.

  25. Cyndi Lewis says:

She’s so pretty! And given our current presidential choices, I’ll write her in. Thanks for stopping by my blog too!

  26. Courtney says:

OMG. Izzy remains frickin’ adorable. And I think she’d make an excellent president of a local animal shelter.

  27. april says:

She is SO big already. I can remember when she was just a puppy (and she’s only like a half month older than Baby!) She looks very healthy with such a shiny coat.

  28. Val Cox says:

    ahh, I love your style!

  29. Jill says:

Alpha Man would like me to make a correction. Mountain Barbie is his baby, you see, and he takes offense that I have suggested her box of crayons is missing a few colors. He would like you all to know she’s just a tad bit stubborn, but really quite smart.

Whatever helps you sleep at night, Big Guy. Whatever helps you sleep.

  30. Hinsley Ford says:

Mountain Barbie – I love it! So, your suggesting she’s a little slow on the uptake? :) I have two cats – one who doesn’t miss a trick and is non-stop in curious kitty mode. The other? Just wants to eat, be on my lap, purr/knead/drool all day. He’s a romantic kind of guy. Gotta love them all!

  31. JL says:

My friend’s chocolate Lab wasn’t all that bright, either. Diva (derived from Godiva) would slobber like crazy in excitement when people came home, so much so that she’d drench the floor surrounding her crate.
