A Guest Blog From Sadie

February 1, 2008 | Filed under: Stuff

Gee, I’m so bored . . . what kind of trouble can I get into?

Oh, I know . . .

No, that’s not enough fun. I think I’ll try this . . .

Yeah, I can definitely get my head further . . . oh shit. I’m stuck. HELLO????? I’M STUCK! A LITTLE HELP . . .??

CAN ANYONE HEAR ME????

I suppose you think that was funny.

(A note from Sadie’s owner: I’ve been getting a lot of questions from you, my lovely readers, on how I’m doing, what my schedule is, about my family, writing, life in general like if I pick my nose, etc, and I’ve been very disorganized and haven’t remembered to answer many of them. Not to mention having fun with pneumonia. So over the next few days if you pose questions in your comments here, I’ll gather them up and answer them in a post next week.)

  1. Stacy ~ says:

OMG, too funny. These pictures tell exactly what Sadie had to have been thinking. And look how sweet Ashes is, trying to comfort his pal LOL.

Jill I hope you’re feeling better, that the pneumonia doesn’t keep you down too long. Enjoy the weekend, stay indoors, and I know it’s a stretch, but let the family take care of you. Ignore the dirty dishes and laundry.

Okay, let’s ask Jill: what’s your favorite beverage, alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic? Favorite movie? Favorite hottie? If cookies didn’t exist, what would be your favorite food? I’ll have to think of more…

  2. Amy M says:

I am so sorry to hear about your pneumonia. I can’t imagine being that sick with kids. The world still goes on if mom is sick. I hope you have a quick recovery. Until then, rest and try to get better.
What is you favorite cookie, and if we wanted to send you a get well batch, where do we send it?

  3. Bayou Woman says:

Too funny! I have no questions for you right now, only sympathy for your being under the weather, and a wish for you to get well soon!
    BW

  4. Dee says:

I hate to hear you are sick. I have been sick for most of the last 2 1/2 months – bronchitis, sinus infections, ear infection. It sure does stink.

Get as much rest as you can! To boost your immune systems, you can order [from General Nutrition Center online] Grapeseed extract, and fish oil capsules. Both are terrific.

    Take care!
    Dee

  5. Judy F says:

AH what a cutie. I hope you get better soon.

How did you met Alpha Man? How did he propose? or did you?

If you could live anywhere where would that be?

If you could met a famous hunk who would it be?

  6. Nancy says:

    LOL! Funny, Sadie.

I do have a question, I’d love to know if your husband reads your books.

  7. Patty L. says:

 I hope your feeling better. I would like to know how many hours a day do you write? How many days a week? And finally, when you started writing did you work full time and when did you find time?

I work full time, have a family and responsibilities and feel like my writing is always put on the back burner. I have tried staying up late and getting up early.

  8. Gail says:

I want to hear more about you and Alpha Man’s relationship. How you met, etc. I bet it’s a good story!

  9. Fannie says:

My question: Which of your books has the hero based on the Alpha husband? Hope you are feeling better today. Sadie had better be more cautious where she sticks her head  What if no one was home to free her? Have a great week-end and take care. Hugs to all.

  10. Michelle says:

I’d love to know what your husband thinks of what you do. Does he like your job? Does he respect it?

  11. Ellen says:

    Great pictures of Sadie.

    Get well soon, Jill!

  12. Devon Ellington says:

No questions from me. Just a wish that you’ll feel better soon. I used to get pneumonia regularly, and it is NO FUN. Take care, rest as much as you need. We’ll still all be here.

  13. Heather Harper says:

    How old is Sadie now?

  14. Carol says:

Other then the bears, how far away is your closest neighbor? I would love to be next door watching all that goes on outside your house. :rotfl: Hope you feel better soon!!!

  15. naomi says:

Why do animals do that? It’s funny and freaky at the same time. Funny is winning out this morning, tho. :rotfl:

As an aspiring romance writer, I always ask published authors how they knew they wanted to write? What is their process for getting a book from idea to final draft? What advice would they give someone trying to break into the business?

Thanks! And I hope you are able to rest a lot this weekend.

  16. Shelly says:

Oh man those are great shots! They need to be on icanhascheezburger.com
And thank goodness you got Ashes that cat. What would she do if she didn’t have her to mother?

Wishing you all the best Jill. Take care of you.

  17. ames says:

Sorry to hear about the pneumonia. Hope you’re back to 100% asap.

My cats aren’t brave enough to stick their head in a cup. They just venture in with their paws.

  18. Allie says:

How hilarious! My cat once was playing in a paper bag. Something scared her and she shot out of the paper bag–or tried to. She got stuck in the handle. So there was this paper bag, wildly flying around my apartment. :) Obviously now I known to cut the handles off before I let the cat play in a bag. LOL

You take care. I don’t have any questions but I see there are some already listed that would have interesting answers for sure. :)

  19. Hélène says:

Having Pneumonia sucks big time! I hope your family is taking this time to pamper you. I have had pneumonia before, and the thought of not being able to go anywhere, do anything just about drove me bunkers.
Luckily i had someone to spoil me little by getting me books, magazines, movies, and whatever else i wanted.

Take care Jill, and get well soon!

  20. Jill says:

Sadie wants to say that she MEANT to get stuck.

  21. Courtney says:

Of course Sadie meant to get stuck. She was waiting to see who would come to her rescue first.
I hope you feel better soon Jill.

  22. Hélène says:

Was she having a “look at me” moment?
    hehehehe!

  23. Brandy says:

No questions here. Just a sincere wish that you get better and rest. Wishing you a relaxing weekend!

  24. Bailey Stewart says:

I’m surprised you’re blogging. Have that laptop close, don’t you? And that’s not my question.

Try steam showers, it’ll loosen up the stuff in your chest and dry up the mucus in your snotty little nose.

I admit, my question has already been asked. How did you and Dead Husband Walking meet? There must be a funny story there somewhere.

Sadie is such a cutie! And of course she meant to get stuck, cats know how to be cute!

  25. Caryn says:

That is so cute! Sadie is just adorable. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

  26. Whitney & Bella says:

That Sadie is one funny cat – not surprised she would do that though, since you know, she’s a cat and all. Every one knows dogs are much brighter!

  27. jeanne says:

Somehow I missed yesterday’s blog and then I read this one and thought it was Sadie that had the pneumonia. (one of my kitten’s had it once – every time she coughed she pooped :rotfl: ) Sure hope you get better soon – no questions – just get some rest and take care.

  28. Donna M says:

    Happy Friday!
Jill, I hope you are feeling better. Remember to take care of yourself. The dear daughters & Alpha Man can manage while you get well.
There are some great questions here. What is your favorite movie and favorite book?

    Everyone have a great weekend.

  29. Susan says:

You have to understand cat talk. Sadie is just saying she wants a playmate! :bananadance:

Hope you have a relaxing weekend.

  30. Judy F says:

I forgot to say I hope you are feeling better soon.

  31. Cryna says:

That is so funny, loved the pictures. Hope you are feeling better soon, and have a good weekend.

  32. Isabel says:

Ok, I have been reading your blog for about a month (I found it from an add on The Pioneer Woman’s blog). Anyway, when I read that your two oldest s play , I was so excited! I am 16 years old, and I am 5′ 11 1/2″ (I refuse to say 6 feet). Anyway, since your s play I was just curious how tall they are? Thanks!
    Isabel
P.S. I don’t play . Or volleyball. But I swim. Contact just aren’t my thing

  33. Dru says:

I have to keep saying to myself

“I can not read Jill’s blog when it is hilarious while I’m at work”

After reading this I busted out laughing and I couldn’t stop and everyone wanted to know what was funny.

The questions I would ask have already been mentioned and I look forward to the answers.

    I hope you’re feeling better.

  34. jean says:

What was in the bottom of the glass? Catnip?

  35. Jill says:

Would you believe like three drops of water?

  36. Isabel says:

Hi Jill  – I found your blog about a month ago and I love it!!! You are too funny!
Question: how tall are your daughters – I’m 5′ 11 1/2″ (yes, I refuse to say 6′). I know they play , so they must be somewhat tall!
Go get some  and get well soon!
    ~Isabel~
P.S. I never played . Or volleyball. But I swam. Contact just aren’t my thing…

  37. Darlene says:

That is just way toooo funny! Whats with cats anyway? Mine would tip anything and everything over.
    Get well soon!

  38. Caffey says:

    You’re adorable Sadie!

Did they forget to give you that great fresh cold water in your bowl, so you wanted the best?

  39. april says:

Sadie is so beautiful. I love her fur patterns. To think, Ashes was an only dog and now there’s a full house! Poor older sibling.

I have a question… how did your pets end up with their names? Who named them and what significance do their names hold (or did the names just fit)? I’m always interested in pets’ names.

  40. Michelle B says:

Ok, that photo of Sadie’s head stuck is just priceless. I’m not sure I’d have been able to capture it in your shoes since I’d either be laughing too hard or running to get her unstuck!
