Things that boggle my mind
January 31, 2008 | Filed under: Stuff

It never fails, night or day, but the SECOND I change the kitty litter, Sadie hops in and stinks up the place. She then struts out, whipping her tail around like “whew, that wing of the house is closed” and she is not kidding. But I’m just wondering why she couldn’t have done that BEFORE I changed the box.
And in that same vein, why am I the only one who knows how to put on a new roll of toilet paper? Anyone? Anyone at all . . . ??
P.S. We’re going short and sweet today because I find things in the Shalvis abode have fallen apart. I have been fighting a cold for forever it seems, and was finally dragged to the doctor by Alpha Man. Turns out I should actually listen to my body when it tells me to go down for the count, as I have pneumonia. It’s not pretty what with the wheezing and snot, and not to mention the attitude. Whew, do I have an attitude. I also had to have an I.V., and that wasn’t pretty either, what with the needle phobia and all . . .
And here’s the WORST thing. I don’t even want cookies. I know, it’s quite tragic.

Jessica Raymond says:
Ooh, that’s not good… I hope you feel (and get) better very soon. And the same thing happens with toilet roll in my house. If someone else (i.e. the other half) finishes the roll then I just find a new roll balanced on top of the empty one when I go in there.

OMG you are really sick… I hope you are feeling better soon. You need lots of TLC…
My cat Sammy does the same thing with the litter box. I swear he waits till I clean it be for he unloads, then he runs through the apt like he is ten lbs lighter.
Sending you lots of hugs.

Hugs, Jill – hope you’re feeling better really soon – and that the toilet roll fairy and kitty litter fairy come and stay with you until you’re better.
V cute pic of Sadie (she has gorgeous eyes).

Yikes Jill, if you don’t want cookies, that’s a serious sign. Will hold off on special order til you’re feeling better…
Doesn’t that aggravate you when you’re the only one that does stuff like changing the toilet paper roll? Or getting milk because no one told you they used the last of it? Obviously Jill you are the magic fairy that makes all that stuff appear. Hang tough.

{{{Jill}}} I hope you feel better soon. Make sure Alpha Man and the girls take good care of you. No cookies, you really are sick.

I’m sorry you have pneumonia -it’s a good thing Alpha Man dragged you to the Doctor!
I hope you start feeling better soon!

No cookie? Now I’m really worried. Take care sweetie, and get better.
And the litter box thing – that’s really a cat thing. I have one that won’t even wait until I get the lid on the box.

Hope you get to feeling better and wanting cookies again very soon Jill. Maybe the toilet paper fairy and the cleaning fairy will come to the Shalvis abode while you are on the mend.

Oh, Jill! Feel better soon! Pneumonia sounds awful.
As for kitten stinking the place up, our girl kitty is like that, too. Her favorite day is change-the-litter day. She begins prancing around the house, meowing, and getting into my husband’s way while he’s trying to scoop out the bits. She has to investigate everything. She’s also been known to sneak into the box of clean litter and use those facilities. On the opposite end, our old boy kitty refuses to poop in the litter box, going just outside it instead and trying to cover the stinky mess with floor tile, which has exactly no effect. At least he urinates in it. And *that* is way more than you wanted to know about the litter box habits of our cats, I’m certain.

Pneumonia is awful… Take care of yourself. Go back to the doc if you get worse. I’ve had it many times… at one point I had it 4x in three months. Lots of fluids and yes, you’ll feel exhausted. Let someone else do the toilet paper and cat box!
Take care… hopefully you’ll be wanting cookies in about a wee!k!

Don’t hate me.

My cat does that too. Sometimes she hops in for a pee while I’m in the process of changing the litter box (which is reeally annoying) but she will always go in for a poop as soon as I’ve finished cleaning the box.

I am so sorry you are sick. Take care of yourself and feel better soon. As I live alone, I have to take care of the toilet paper and so forth. No pets so I don’t have that to contend with. :relieved: Sounds as if all you owned by pets folk have related pets. Weird since you all live so far apart.
Everyone have a great day and hugs to all.

My female cat does exactly the same thing. She waits nearby until I completely finish, then she runs right in to do her thing. It’s been going on for so long that I think it’s funny. Sometimes, I wait until I see she’s just pooped and then change the box. She still seems to have something left for when I’m through.

Feel better soon, Jill!
We’ve always teased my older daughter, who never puts a new roll on the spool, that maybe they’ll teach her that in college since she’s never learned how. Seeing how she graduates from college this spring and she still sets the new roll on top of the old one, I’m guessing it might just be too late.
Posted on January 31st, 2008 at 2:38 pmLori says:
You really should listen to your body and here is why. My Alpha Man has been sick for almost a month and I finally threatened him enough that he finally went to the doctor Tuesday and they immediately put him in the hospital and pumped FIVE units of blood into him. Turns out he has been bleeding internally and didn’t know it. He almost died, his hemoglobin count was a 4 and it is supposed to be 12 to 14. They are running test tomorrow to find the source of his bleeding. Moral of story – when you are sick go to the doctor because you just don’t know what it might be.

((((Hugs, Jill)))) I’m sorry to hear that you are sick. Take good care of yourself & thank Alpha Man for dragging you to the doctor even if it meant needles! Needles don’t bother me, so I don’t care if they want to poke me!!

Feel better. That pneumonia thing is going around here in NJ too. It comes on strong and lasts awhile. So don’t think you will be better in a few days. Stay in bed and have some chicken soup. Then have some cookies!

(((JILL))) Hope you’re eating cookies again soon!

Ooh, not fun, hope you’re feeling better soon. And the toilet paper? The only thing worse than that is when the kids steal it out of your bathroom because they’re too lazy to run downstairs and get new rolls. Then you need some and guess what? Not a pretty picture.

And I hear you on the cookies…though for me, it’s cookies’n'cream icecream.
Couldn’t even stomach that yesterday…a sad day indeed

Jill, I am so sorry that you are under the weather like this, I hope that you have a speedy recovery and that the family makes sure you get cookies……..
