Anatomy of a mountain walk
December 26, 2007 | Filed under: Stuff
First, Ashes and I step out the door into the wild Sierras, where we’ve had nearly four feet of snow in the past ten days.

Pass by trees that look like ghosts . . .

And a poor tree that looks like an old man . . .

Here’s where I sit when I get tired but the stump is buried today.

And then, in the home stretch, when I’m slowing down, the dog has her second wind and wants me to HURRY UP, WE HAVE COOKIES WAITING FOR US AT HOME!!!

Beautiful pics! I would have liked a little more than the dusting of snow we had on the ground for Christmas, but four feet? Um, no thank you!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday together! We had lots of time with both families which was very nice, but still a little more chaotic than I would have liked. As much as I like to bake and make sweet treats, I spent waaay too much time in the kitchen over the weekend, getting ready for all of the gatherings.

What beautiful pictures. No snow where I live! Not sure I would ever want that much but would love to see it from inside for a day or two! Thanks for sharing your “Winter Wonderland”.

Those pictures are so beautiful. My Mom wants us all to go to Tahoe next year for Christmas. If you have no snow and a heat wave you’ll know we made it!

Those are beautiful pictures, but way too much snow for my liking. We get snow but not like that – thank goodness…….

Gorgeous pic! It doesn’t look like Chritmas here in western Pa – no snow!! very unusual but it did make traveling to visit friends and family a lot nicer. Hope everyone’s holidays have been wonderful.

Just breathtakingly gorgeous…but I’d hate to drive in that. Still, the view is incredible.

Just beautiful pics you take. Even though the snow is tough driving in and all, I love to read watching out the picture window, of the snow. Looks so serene.

I think pristine white snow in the mountains is so much prettier than the white-gray stuff we get down below in the valleys.
Happy Holidays!!!
