Playing Santa
November 28, 2007 | Filed under: Stuff
My husband’s Christmas present arrived early, and it’s not exactly one of those things that I can shove under the bed until Christmas morning.

I know, I know, I needed another baby in this house like I need a hole in my head, but it’s all he wanted, and he’s wanted a chocolate brown lab for like ten years.
The best part of this present? When she wakes up crying at two a.m. I turn to him, give him a nice little shove, and say, “your baby needs a feeding” and I don’t have any obligation to get up. Now that? That’s new. And it makes me laugh. A lot. So early Merry Christmas to both of us.
Watch out world, shoes, squirrels, and anything that moves, here comes Izzy Shalvis.

Oh, Jill, she’s GORGEOUS.
I’ve gone all broody now, so when I renew my ‘can we have another pup – Byron needs another pup to keep him company’ campaign, my DH can blame you
Enjoy. Puppies are just wonderful.

I don’t know if you have ever had a Lab before, but just in case you haven’t…they stay in the puppy stage for a least two years and can/will eat the wallpaper off the wall.

What a cute baby puppy.
May there be many years of joy with Izzy.
I’m still waiting for my part-lab to grow up. Think he’s stuck in goofy part of his growth.

Izzy is so cute!! Almost makes me want one myself, until i am reminded about the going outside in the cold so the puppy can potty. and about the chewing…although my cat believes she is a dog and has chewed the ends off of two pair of ear buds now!
Posted on November 28th, 2007 at 10:21 amyou’ll definitely have your hands full now, good luck!
Cryna says:
That is the cutest puppy. But will keep you all busy, and how did Ashes take to having the puppy there? And the kitten?
Posted on November 28th, 2007 at 10:35 amShelly says:
OMGosh, they just don’t get much cuter than her and look at those feet! She’s going to be a big girl.
“Izzy”… don’t tell us…… she’s super smart in an unpretentious way, (obviously) gorgeous, sweeter than tea in Georgia and knows how to play the “dingy” card for effect when ever she wants to get her way. OR Her new family are Grey’s addicts and couldn’t help themselves. Either way, it’s a great name.
Wishing you all the best with your new (and old) babies. Feel free to share photos galore!

What. A. Button!
I love labs. The eat anything, bless their hearts.
My Aunt is using frozen tea towels (wet them first, then freeze them) as her Chocolate Lab (Binden) is teething right now…
They’re fun though. Enjoy!

What a cute baby. I’m with the others – how are the other furry Shalvis’ responding to this?
Posted on November 28th, 2007 at 12:31 pmLis says:
Awww, that is one mega cute puppy!!
Posted on November 28th, 2007 at 12:36 pmJill says:
Would have responded earlier but I’ve been busy introducing the various members of the household to each other. Here’s how it is going:
Ashes loves the kitten Sadie. Well, mostly she loves to smell her butt but love is love.
Sadie loves Ashes. Loves to climb on her, loves to eat her food, loves to bite her tail, and loves to sleep curled up with her.
Neither Ashes nor Sadie know yet what to think of whimpering five week old Izzy but they’re willing to sniff at her lots.

Aw. SO cute! But another girl in the house? Maybe you should get hubby a My Buddy doll (action figure?) or something. Just to remind him that he’s not all alone in estrogen land.
