Since we go skiing at Squaw nearly every spring and we stay in South Lake (casinos) I knew we had eaten at Taco Bell so I got on line to see where it was (my short term memory sucks) and there is one on South Lake Shore Drive but, I also found one only 17 miles from Truckee (we shop there when not skiing) it is in Verdi, NV. Never heard of it but probably have driven through it. There are also 6 in Reno if you ever venture that far. I myself am a Taco Bell girl and felt compelled to help. Actually that sounds good for supper tonight!

Wow, that's so pretty... it seems like you always post gorgeous pics of where you live! Seems like a great place to raise kids =) My family just moved to a really small town and we live in the middle of nowhere ha, it's really nice, with the beautiful scenery like you have, BUT everything is soooo far away and the only thing to do is visit the Super Walmart a few towns over ha... oh well!

Beautiful picture & I don't think you have given up a thing by not having a Taco Bell nearby!
I have the best of both worlds, in my humble opinion! A small town that attracts tourists, neat little shops, but expensive & geared toward the tourist, coffee shops & good restaurants close enough to walk to,wine country, rural area about a 5 minute drive away, ocean about an hours drive, a small city about 14 miles away & a big city about 70 miles away! The mountains are further away but still easily reachable for the weekend. The weather is wonderful, most of the time. No complaints about where I live. Oh yea, there is a Taco Bell about 5 miles down the road & I get my fix from time to time.

I'm sure you don't miss the traffic and pollution. I've always lived in the suburbs. Just used to it I guess. I always thought I'd like to live in a little town where things were in walking distance - like a book store lol.

Oh man, I was so tempted to stay during our hiking trip to Desolation. It's just unbelievably beautiful--the views, the water, the clean air.

My husband and I were weighing the possibilities of moving up there from the city, but that whole snow shoveling thing may have killed the deal!

We moved from Seattle out into the boonies and whenever we go back for a visit, I am always feel like I am trapped inside a video game--the traffic in Seattle is pretty incredible. Where I live now, the only major traffic we have is after the fireworks on the 3rd of July (not a typo!).
