Questions for the universe:

March 20, 2007 | Filed under: Stuff

1. For those who saw Grey’s Anatomy — George and Izzy? Naked? In the same bed? Brilliant or cringe-worthy?

2. Watching Lost? Are you tired of the Jack/Sawyer/Kate triangle, or still on board?

3. For romance readers – do you like books to be linked together in an ongoing series, or stand alones?

4. And still on books – are you buying in stores, or online, and what makes you go for a book? Is it the cover, the author, the back cover copy, or a combination of all of the above?

5. And for those of you who are successfully trim – what the hell is your secret? And please don’t say giving up Girl Scout cookies and bbq potato chips.

  1. Jaye Patrick says:

    1. & 2. Don’t watch ‘em, so don’t care;
    3. Either, as long as they’re well written;
    4. A combination, plus recommendations;
    5. More exercise and not eating after 8.00pm. No snacks, nothing. You can still have your cookies, but you have to work them off – there are no cheats…. sorry.

  2. Stacy ~ says:

    1 & 2) I don’t watch them either, so whatever

    3) I love ‘em both, but I wish I could find more stand alone books. I get tired of finding out I have book #2 or #3 out of a series before reading #1

    4) combo, but usually the cover attracts my attention first

5). I have no clue. Uh, drink more water?

  3. Laura says:

    1. All I could think was now I think everyone has slept with every one else. I didn’t think the “Anatomy” in the title would be so literal.

    2. I don’t watch it so I don’t have an opinion.

    3. I like them but like Stacy, I think they need to be stand alone. Nothing annoys me more to read a book, get to the end and realize the story’s not finished.

    4. All of the above.

    5. Weight Watchers – and water.

and p.s. I was thinking (particularly with the first question) that it was from the Grey’s Anatomy’s episode from a couple of weeks ago. :) )

  4. Elizabeth K says:

1&2: I don’t know. But if these series are like all the other series out there, they’ll follow a pattern: the tension will drive you crazy until the resolution, and then you’ll get bored. Unless the apocalypse happens meantime.

3: I prefer a series to be about a set of people, with each one getting their own book–like Lisa Kleypas’s Wallflower series, rather than the entire series being about one person. There are some good ones out there, like Stephanie Plum for example, but after a while it gets tired. Same old, same old.

4: Funny you should ask. For the longest time I was on autobuy with a certain set of authors. Then, just like the series thingy above, I got tired. The last six months or so I’ve been reading alot of new-to-me authors (including the lovely Jill Shalvis!!) and find myself back to basics: looking at the back cover, or reading reviews.

5: Jill, dear, it’s a horrible fact of life that once we women get to a certain age it’s all work work work if we want to maintain a figure. I’ve been exercising since the beginning of the year, at least 3 days a week, and I haven’t made near the progress I would have ten years ago. It really sucks trying to gain back what you had. Add to that the fact that all those yummy things like cookies and Doritos have every scrap of nutrition processed right out of them and it’s an uphill battle every step of the way.

Okay, I’m lecturing. Sorry. And my son wants me to add this to the comment: :guitar:

  5. mary beth says:

    1. cringe worthy and totally out of left field. What are the writers thinking?!?
    2. TIRED. That said, I really liked last week’s episode and I haven’t liked the show lately.
    3. ALL of it. Every once in a while a great cover will have me picking up the book. Then I’ll read the back cover copy and sometimes the first page. The other thing that gets me to buy a book by an author I don’t know: that cool Amazon feature that says people who bought this also bought… Sometimes I go on looking for one book, but I want the free shipping, so that feature helps.
    4. Amazon, Wal-Mart and Sams. Rarely do I buy at a bookstore anymore. They’re too overwhelming and I can never find what I’m looking for. I love Waldens, but I don’t have one near me.
    5. ahahahaha

  6. Mary says:

    #1 – CRINGE WORTHY!!! EWWWWW!!!

  7. Amy M says:

    1. I think it is a bad idea. There goes the comfortable friendship.
    2. I don’t watch Lost.
    3. I do like books that are linked together. I have several authors that I read that write in a series. I feel like they are “friends” when you read about them in more than one book. You also get to know the characters a little better (i.e. Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich)
    4. I buy 95% of my books online because I research the books and titles before I will buy them. Usually I do this on Amazon.com where people rate the books or on the romance review sites. If it is an author that I read no matter what (ie Jill Shalvis, Cherry Adair, Cindy Gerard, Susan Elizabeth Phillilps, Rachel Gibson, Janet E., Roxanne St. Claire, etc.) then I will buy them at Target or Walmart if available. Usually though, I just buy them online. Myself and 4 young kids in book store is a bad combination. The internet is a wonderful thing. Your book, for example, I have already preordered.
    5. Successfully trim…..Weight Watchers Point System. You can still eat those bad foods, you just loose your points fast.
PS I’m so excited about the “Sexy” series.

  8. Fancy says:

    1. I’m supposed to be reading

    2. I’m supposed to be reading

    3. I like ongoing series, probably because of the fact that I get to get glimpses of what happened to characters from previous books. I’m always aching to knows how’s their life after marriage~

    4. Buy in stores (I love to physically hand-pick books because I hate dog ears and when the embossing goes off the title or the author’s name ya know what I mean?). 1st cover, 2nd blurb, 3rd author

    5. My friends (who are trim) say their secret is because they have good GENES

  9. Bailey Stewart says:

    1. Don’t watch
    2. Quit watching for that reason
    3. Yes, absolutely favorite kind of romance. (Next to friends-to-lovers)
    4. All of the above – except for autobuys which I will often pre-order on-line because it helps the author.
    5. Eat lettuce and die. I liked Gene Kelly – he was good, does that qualify for good GENES?

Best I can do, I’m home sick AGAIN.

  10. Darcey says:

    1. Cringeworthy, what were they thinking?
    2. Don’t watch
    3. I love stories that are linked in a series.
    4. I only buy books by my favorite authors, like you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have any money left over to pay bills.
    5. I wouldn’t know. I’ve been on a diet since the end of May 2006 and have only managed to lose 55 pounds and I have a looong way to go before I’ll be considered thin. I do miss the cookies and chips!!

  11. Julie says:

1 & 2…have not ever seen either. But if you want to talk about the Amazing Race I am right there!!
3……I LOVE SERIES. I love catching up with characters from previous books
4….Recommendations from bulletin boards from author’s that I read and like websites. Which is how I found you Jill. I would prefer the cover not scream…”wild sex inside” as I have children…(but that will not stop me from reading if it does..ha ha)
5….Do this and I guarantee a bikini body by summer…1,000 calories a day..NO MORE NO soda…nothing white. (bread, sugar, flour). Try to make the protein grams match or outweigh the carb grams in everything you eat. (this is hard to do, but tuna, eggs (hardboiled)are examples) Food shopping…shop the perimeter of the store only…stay out of the middle. 1 1/2 to 2 hours workout each day. Half of it hard cardio and half strength training.

  12. Erin says:

    1. Wrong. Just…wrong. :hissyfit:
    2. Don’t watch.
    3. Both. It’s the story. I’ve seen ongoing series that bore me because there are too many books, and I’ve read stand-alones I love and want to continue.
    4. All of the above. I also go on recommendation, but it has to be someone I really trust.
    5. Um…I don’t have a magic secret. I’m still trying to lose the 7 I put on when I went back to school.

  13. Devon Ellington says:

I stopped watched GREY’S because the characters are too much of a mess and I’ve lost patience with them.

I stopped watching LOST because I don’t like the direction the show’s taking AND I think the network spent too much time screwing the viewers.

Also, I’ve worked B’way the past five weeks nearly full time, nights and weekends, so no TV for me. Haven’t missed it.

If I like the characters, I want to see them in more books. However, this trend of trilogies that could actually be one book but are padded to stretch to three, and nothing is resolved until the final one gets on my last nerve. I’ve turned away from several authors because I’m sick of it. I like a mix of stand-alones and series. But give me a sense of completion in each book of the series, even if not everything is resolved. But at least resolve SOMETHING.

I try to buy in person from independent booksellers, but if I have trouble finding a book, I’ll go online. For research, I always go first to Strand, who is used to my eccentricities and always goes the extra mile for me.

Losing weight — I don’t give up anything. I eat healthy, in moderation, with a glass of wine with dinner. However, I do not have soda or junk food (like chips) in the house. Don’t like ‘em, don’t eat ‘em. I don’t consider cookies junk food. They are a vital element in the diet. I also do yoga every morning, and walk to as many places as I can. In the city, I almost always walk rather than take the subway, but out here in the burbs it’s more difficult.

  14. Margaret McDonagh says:

    1. Have never seen it – it’s not shown on a channel I can get here in the UK.

    2. I gave up after series one. Then the series moved to a channel I can’t get, anyway. But a friend still watches it and gives me the highlights. The whole triangle thing sounds very tedious now. It’s going on too long and seems to have no purpose or end in sight from what I can gather.

    3. As both reader and writer, I love linked books, the whole sense of continuity and community and keeping in touch with loved characters. But that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy stand-alones, too.

    4. Have to do all my buying online these days. I buy everything by favourite authors and judge others by cover, blurb and recommendation.

    5. Have never been remotely trim so cannot answer this one!!!!

    Love,
    Mags

  15. Patty L. says:

Well I don’t watch Grey’s or Lost. Lost scared me the first two seasons and gave me bad dreams. I know I’m a big sissy.

As for books, love them, and can talk all day about them. First I love series books and I love stand alone books. It does drive me crazy when a stand alone book does not clear everything up that I have questions about. I buy most of my books in the store. Covers have a lot to do with me picking up books that I don’t know the author. If I know the author I will read the back cover. Unfortunately, sometimes the back cover is misleading in both good and bad ways. I put a book back on the shelf because I did not like the back cover, but a friend of mine had it and told me how great it was, I borrowed her copy and loved the book. Like I said bad back cover.

As far as being trim, I wish. If you find the secret, let me know.

  16. Sue aka MsCreativity says:

I LOVE continuity books but I also enjoy stand-alones.

I buy mainly online but if I’m out and about I can’t resist adding to my tbr pile.

    Sue :-)

    P.S. Gorgeous pics!

  17. Fannie says:

    1 &2: Don’t watch
3: I like stand alone’s and series. But I do like for series where the next book keeps things factual from the 1st book.
4: I buy books from everywhere, online, book stores, yard sales, Wal Mart etc. The author catches my eye first and then I read the back.
5: Never having been especially trim, I have no idea how to get back to that condition. I try to eat as healthy as I can, but for the most part, I like me as I am. As long as I like me, everyone else’s opinion don’t count. Hugs to all.

  18. Susan says:

    1. It was plain and simply torture to see! :wall:
    2. I have never watched it.
    3. I like both. When it’s a series I want to know that before I start reading it so I can budget for it.
    4. I buy online. A combination of all and readers reviews.
    5. I’d like to know the answer to that too!

  19. kim h says:

dont watch much of those shows. love them cookies

  20. Gail Hurt says:

    1. I watch Greys Anatomy every week I think it could mess up a really good friendship.
    2. I do not watch Lost I read instead.
    3. I like books to be linked, but have to switch off to stand alone books because I will get bord with them.
    4. About the weight loss I can relate. I have struggled with this all of my life. Now I am over 50 and falling apart. I can’t lose a pound no matter how much I work out. I would have to live on salaid alone to lose one pound and then you stay hungery all the time.

  21. Lishy says:

    1. Yes. It never actually says that they slept together, but the whole nekkid thing raises some issues. At least now Izzie can’t keep harping on Mer for it. Did anyone else flashback to Izzie walking in on George in the shower when Alex did the same to her?

    2. Don’t watch it.

    3. Both, but stand alones are getting very rare. That’s what I’ve been looking for lately.

    4. Mostly in stores. And it’s a combination of all the above plus suggestions from fellow readers.

    5. Moderation. Trying not to eat the whole box/bag in one sitting helps. Along with boredom eating. That’s a very large speed bump. “They” say eating several smaller meals instead of a few large ones is better for your metabolism, too. Not drinking soda helps. And water…always water…

  22. Ellen says:

George and Izzy? Isn’t he marrying that other doctor with the dark hair (the one the girls disliked?)

    3. I read and love both stand-alone books AND series.

    4. I buy mostly online now, but take an occasional trip to B & N where I load up. I buy mostly based on the author. I usually try new authors based on recommendations from other readers (or I stumble across their fabulous blog, like yours). Sometimes, the back cover blurb will sell me.

    5. When you learn the magic and mystical secret to trimness without giving up the goodies, be sure to blog it! I’ve said it all along – there should be a cute little pill we can pop which allows us to eat anything we want without gaining.

  23. Laurie says:

I don’t watch either of those shows, so no comment on them.

I enjoy series and stand alones, don’t have a particular preference. A series gives you other books to look forward to, but then I’m always disappointed when I finish the last one that there won’t be more, no matter how neat and tidy things are wrapped up at the end.

I’d say my purchases are fairly equal between brick & mortar and online shopping. I love carrying a sack from the bookstore through the mall, but at the same time, I love coming home from work to a box from Amazon!

As for slenderness – my only suggestion is to go to sleep – that’s the only place I’ll ever find it – in my dreams!! I’m working on it, especially for health reasons, but it’s damned hard – and no fun.

  24. Shelly says:

    1. Can you say incestuous? Gross! And doesn’t she know Denny is watching? Im still praying that pre-sex they figured out it was all a big mistake and just drunkenly fell asleep. Call me Pollyanna but a girl can still hold out for some sign of sanity in her shows right?

    2. Lost lost me at “hello”.

    3. Mostly stand alone. I do however like when a character from before is brought back down the road and I can see how they have evolved even though the stories might not be related.

    4. I generally sample the book at the library or bookstore and then buy at Amazon. Romance is not my first genre choice generally, but when it is I buy based on how much I can relate to the subject matter or heroine. I like to feel like it is me in the shoes of the heroine and thus look for things that I connect to. ie: if there are horses, veterinarians, firemen, a super savvy business goddess, holistic medicine or something that I find intriguing but have not yet learned it gets my attention. Then it also has to be witty, intelligent and sexy…..the characters real, down-to-earth and personable…. oddly enough, your writing fits all of this for me and probably the reason why you are one of the few romance writers that I enjoy.

    5. After many years of being severally over weight I learned that food was my drug. If I ate refined sugars and flours I chemically craved more of them. When I eliminated processed foods and started eating more whole, natural goods I not only lost the weight but I feel SO much better.(I know..not the answer you were looking for) Walking at least an hour a day (preferably someplace peaceful and enjoyable) makes all the difference in the world for me too.

  25. april says:

    1. I think it depends on how it is handled after the fact. I’m not for the storyline, but I trust the writers so far to make it a well done plot.

    2. I don’t watch Lost. I couldn’t get past the first few episodes.

    3. I liked linked books and stand-alones.

    4. I prefer to buy in stores, but I buy online every other month or so as needed. I buy from a list. I’ve cut back quite a bit on impulse buys, but if I do buy a new author, it’s based on cover and sometimes title.

    5. Up until I turned 30, I had the bestest metabolism ever. Plus, I don’t snack. I love eating and eat a lot, but I’ve never snacked so I eat a light breakfast (on rare days), big lunch and a little dinner. Only if we’re watching movies do I eat popcorn. Recently, I just hit the weight range my body is supposed to be and I’m having a little trouble adjusting… like it’s hard enough getting older. *sigh*

  26. Cryna says:

    1. Don’t watch much TV

    2. Ditto answer from above

    3. Love series books linked. It is so great to see more of some of the charactrs you met in a previous book and get more insight into them. But I also like stand alone books.

    4. Buy most of my books in the store, but sometimes online if I cannot find the book I am looking for. I have auto buy authors, but when I am shopping if a book cover catches my eye, I will pick it up and look at the back cover and read what the book is about. LOL I have found some neat authors this way.

    5. I am not successful at staying trim. But I eat healthy and that is the best one can do.

  27. Tempest Knight says:

    3. For romance readers – do you like books to be linked together in an ongoing series, or stand alones?

I don’t like series too much. If I miss a book, then I lose the thread. That’s why I prefer stand alones.

    4. And still on books – are you buying in stores, or online, and what makes you go for a book? Is it the cover, the author, the back cover copy, or a combination of all of the above?

I buy them at Borders where I get discount coupons. I only buy through BN.com when the book is hard to get only. As for picking up a book, the cover and title are the first thing I notice. Then I read the blurb, and if it still holds my attention, then I read the first couple of chapters.

  28. Carolyn A. says:

    #1) Don’t watch.
#2) Hooked on Lost but getting a little tired of love triangle – where’s it going? I love Desmond now – he’s my favorite character (used to be Sawyer).
#3) I like both. My pet peeve with series is waiting soooo long between releases I lose the thread of the story. I sometimes wait to get all books before I read.
#4) I buy in store mostly – love browsing in a bookstore. I do order from Amazon to get a great deal. I usually buy for the author – I have my favorite must-buy authors (including you Jill) followed by a combo.
#5) When you learn the secret let me know. I hate to exercise and I love to eat, mostly stuff that’s bad for you.

  29. Jill says:

Loved all the responses, especially hearing that I’m on your purchasing list. A write can never hear enough of that, let me tell you!

  30. Lis says:

    1. Don’t watch
    2. Kind of watching. Very tired of the triangle.
    3. I like the linked books lately.
    4. Mostly in-store if they have what I want. Too impatient for online ordering (besides I wait till I have that $39 = free shipping  so sometimes it takes awhile to total that) Mostly its the author, then the back cover copy. Covers will get to pick up a book and flip it over, but it really won’t make me take it out of the store.
    5. Ha, I’m still trying to make bowflex my best friend  And who could live without bbq chips? That’s just wrong.

  31. Judy F says:

    1) don’t watch
    2) I still watch and usually say HUH at the end of every show.
3)I like both. Its great to revisit past characters. But sometimes I just want to read one book and not have to go hunting for the others.
4)I buy mostly at the store (love the employee discount)
Usually its the author esp that Shalvis chick. Mostly its a combo or we get things from the author at the store.
    5) Not trim. Wish I was. my sister showed me a picture that was taken at my niece baby shower. I swear I need to stop eating.NOW.

    Lovely picture.

ps. I got the review done and up at Amazon.

  32. Jillian Beane says:

    1. I missed the recent episodes of Grey’s, but I’d have to say from watching it before that seeing Izzy and George together… not a good combo.

    2. I haven’t watched Lost since last year… I got bored with the unanswered questions.

    3. I like both types of books. I really enjoy getting more in depth with the secondary characters and getting updates on the past characters’ lives are always fun. And, some books are great just by themselves.

    4. Lately I have been buying more and more books online, simply because I am one of the few among the female population who HATES to shop. Going to the mall for me is like going to the GYN. Not my idea of a good time.

I tend to stick to my favorite authors when choosing what books to buy. I am usually watching a couple months in advance for their new books so I can pre-order the books. I tend to not care what the story is about because I love the author’s work.

Second, if it isn’t by one of my staple authors, I look for the blurb in the back to see what the book is about. I tend to be pretty choosy that way, mostly depending on my mood.

I tend not to look at the cover much because I have found too many times that you really can’t judge a book by its cover.

    5. I’m one of those people that most women hate because I can pretty much eat whatever, not do anything and not gain weight. They’ll be happy to know that as I am getting older, that is beginning to change, but I still like my ice cream for breakfast, my girl scout cookies by the box and a bag of chips when I’m vegging out in front of the TV.

    JB

  33. Christa says:

    1 & 2) I don’t realy watch them, so I don’t really have an opinion.
3)I like both books that are connected and stand alone books. I think with connected books you get to know characters more. I especially like books where an author has creates a character that isn’t very likable but is going to be a H later. It’s always a pleasure seeing how the author pulls it off.
4)I don’t have a credit card so unless the site that I am buying books on takes a different payment I have to get books from a store.
5)I don’t like bbq chips and I haven’t had girl scouts come and sell cookies but I’m not trim. How the hell did that happen?

Great pic. Looks like a great thinking spot.

  34. Marty says:

    1. Don’t watch is. What’s an Izzy?
    2. Watch Lost–still ok with the triangle, better now that they can’t all glower at one another. Feel kidna sorry for Sawyer.
    3. Linked is ok, but only if it was worthwhile to begin with. Lame linkage = not good.
    4. I buy a lot online (Amazon). Usually an author I know, or someone a friend might recommend. Don’t really care about the cover, but the blurb should be good, or I might not buy.
    5. Give up soda. Or pop. Or Coke. Or whatever you call it in your neck of the woods. Yes, even the ‘diet’ kind.

  35. Dru says:

    1. & 2. I don’t watch

    3. I like either, but each book in a series must act as a stand-alone, but of course I’ll have to read all the back stories.

    4. For books that I need to have on the day of sale, I’m at a bookstore. All others, online and pre-order. Paperbacks I’ll pick up at the bookstore; hardcovers online.

    5. I failed.

  36. catslady says:

    1. I expected it lol.
    2. Sorry, haven’t got hooked on this one.
    3. I vote for stand alone.
    4. I prefer hands on but I will buy a book anywhere. I have automatic authors, like the back blurbs, and then the cover.
    5. Not actually trim but compared to some I guess I am for my age (56). I refuse to go on a diet – too much rebounding and thinking about food. I just try to limit myself. Don’t do diet anything because I think they are part of the problem. I eat anything but just not a lot of it. I always bring food home from a restaurant. Black coffee and wine with dinner :)

  37. Diana says:

    3. I like both books that are linked together and stand alones. Regarding linked books, it’s fun to revisit characters I enjoyed reading about the first time.

    4. I usually buy books online (Amazon.com). There are authors whose books are auto-buys for me, but sometimes an interesting back cover copy will catch my attention. I rarely ever buy a book solely based on the cover.

    5. I am not succcessfully slim, so I can’t give you advice about this. :P

  38. Brandy says:

    1 and 2. Don’t watch.
    3. I enjoy both stand-a-lone and series. Not so much if the series is dragging things out with no resolution in sight, and sometimes stan-a-lones leave me clamoring for more.
4.I buy mostly in stores, but do also buy online. Back cover copy, reviews and author excerpts are what help me to decide to buy a book.
    5. The last time I was skinny, I was 11 years old. But, I exercise regularly and watch what I eat. I will never be skinny, but I am healthy.

  39. Marcy says:

    1. Totally cringe-worthy for me. I like Callie for George.

    2. I’m tired of the love triangle. Give me more of Sayid’s, Hurley’s or Sun’s story line any day.

    3. I love linked books because I feel like the characters are almost like friends or family and I don’t want the visit to end. LOL

    4. I buy nearly 100% online. That way I know I can find the book I want and not be frustrated when it’s sold out or not in stock. I also research books ahead of time before buying. I’m not big on covers. I go for the back blurb and author. And if I’m really intrigued by the back blurb I’ll read an excerpt.

    5. Not applicable. :footinmouth: (

  40. Bailey Stewart says:

especially hearing that I’m on your purchasing list

You write? Anything I’ve heard of?

  41. Mizzz K says:

    1 & 2? I don’t have a TV. I don’t watch either of those shows.

    3. I prefer stand alone. Series are only good for a short while and then they always loose the oomph that made them popular. Authors (editors? Agents? And to be fair, many readers) tend to not recognize when it is time to stop until they are well past that point.

    4. I will occasionally buy online if it is the simplest way to get a well recommended book, but nothing beats seeing the cover and smelling the pages and reading the back and the first few pages like you can only do in a store. Usually the section of the store where the book is located makes a big difference (ie I rarely look in the recipe or self-help section), the title is a key aspect, sometimes the cover, often a friend’s recommendation, or a review I have read in a magazine. If I’m torn, the first three pages will either hook me or have me fishing for something else.

    5. Can’t say I’m successfully trim, but always a struggling trim. Biggest difference? Learning exactly how many calories are in each piece of food you put in your mouth, then finding a realistic figure for what you are supposed to eat, and staying within that guideline. Eat 3 cookies? Fine, but then you have to give up half of your normal dinner meal because your calories are used up. (If you truthfully count how many calories you eat, it is SCARY. I don’t mean estimate either. For one week? Take the effort to measure your food properly and google to find stuff that is more difficult and find out exactly how many calories you are eating.) And? Exercise. No-one will ever successfully maintain weight loss without it. It can be as simple as walking to your bus stop instead of driving, or lapping your kid’s playing field instead of sitting for the game, but you have to be more active.

    1. and 2. – Don’t watch either of these!

    3. I like both stand alones and series books.

    4. I buy in stores and pretty much all of what is listed helps me with choosing books.

    5. Last summer I lost 10 pounds JUST by giving up Dr. Peppers and drinking water only. Then silly me started back on the DP’s and gained all my weight back. :hissyfit: I’m back on the water, not eating after 5pm and exercising and in the last few weeks I’ve lost 7 pounds! :bananadance:

    1&2: don’t watch,

    3) I like the linked series. Especially if it’s about a family of drop-dead gorgeous brothers

    4) I buy the adult series romance (Harlequin Blaze and Silhouette Desire) online at eHarlequin. I get a 20% discount that way. But I go to Bookstar (where I use my BN Member card to get 10% off) to buy the thicker romance books (like your upcoming Smart and Sexy. SO looking forward to reading that). What attracts me is the cover and then the back cover blurb

    5) Stress. Seriously. When I’m stressed, I don’t eat. And I drink a lot of water. A LOT. I live in Arizona, for crissakes. When I bleed, it’s clear..not red.
