The Shalvis Chronicles

UPDATE:
I was interrupted 9 times, which felt like A LOT until I read all your guesses, lol!!! Winners email me with your book choices and address!
I am behind. Overworked. Underpaid. The usual complaints. So I locked myself in my office with a sign that said KNOCK AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND ONLY IF THERE’S BLOOD AND GUTS SHOWING.
Today’s contest – guess how many times the sign was ignored and I was interrupted yesterday by the three children, husband, dog, and yes I’m serious, hamsters. I’ll draw names from the correct guesses for a choice of a book from my backlist.

Judy F says:
maybe we need to get you a tazer like device attached to the door.
I am guessing 15 times.
by the way since I am sick and lazy today how many pieces of candy/fudge did you eat from the other contest.

After seeing that sign my family would not be able to resist bothering me so I’m going to guess 20.

I’m going to guess 11 times. Gosh, I hope it wasn’t that many!
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 3:39 amElizabeth K says:
I’m guessing 40. Because I turned 40 today! (Great Scot!) And besides, it’s a nice round number.
Hope today is better for you!
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 3:48 amStacey says:
It should have been a school day, I believe. Soooo…I’m going to guess 23 times.
Good luck. Hopefully, today will be better.
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 4:00 amCheryl S. says:
My first thought was 8 although, if it was my family, that would be an awfully optimistic number.
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 4:11 amBailey Stewart says:
Happy Birthday Elizabeth! :bananadance:
I have more of your books in backstock than you do, so I’m not guessing. I just wanted to say – electrify the doorknob … :fryingpan:
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 4:58 amMarty says:
I’ll be cautious and keep it under ten time (although you did use the plural of ‘hamster’). Nine?
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 5:03 amKris says:
I am going to guess 12 times. There are 6 beings on the list so that gives them two interruptions each.
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 5:33 amBarbara-Jo says:
Just to be different my guess is 16.
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 5:53 amKathleen says:

Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 5:55 amPatty L. says:
I guess 18. Don’t know why it just a guess.
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 6:18 amDevon Ellington says:
Seventeen.
And I bet none of them offered cookies!
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 6:26 amAngie T says:
I’m going to say 9 times, because that is about my limit and after that objects and a few choice words, would be “accidentally” flying toward the offending person.
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 6:52 amKaren B says:
Hmmm. Based on 8 hours – 1x/hr X 4 peeps = 32 + 2x for dog and 1x for hamster = 35. Hope it wasn’t this much but am guessing that it was even more… Did anyone bring cookies or did you stock up first?
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 7:25 amDeb says:
27
at least.
I like the electrifying the doorhandle idea
Not enough to really fry them, just enough to harmlessly knock them out for an hour… :whip:

Thirteen times!!! I hope there was no BLOOD AND GUTS SHOWING!
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 8:28 amCryna says:

Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 8:36 amSusan says:
How this for a guess… to many times! :wall:

Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 11:43 amAlice Audrey says:
I have no hope of getting this right so I’m going for silly. I say you weren’t interrupted at all. In other word’s zero times.
Quite laughing already it wasn’t that funny.

Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 6:47 pmMichele L. says:
Your hamsters bothered you also? I am picturing in my mind that they rode in on your dog’s back to say,
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 7:16 pm“Excuse me, but I am being ignored here.”
in a tiny squeaky voice.
Your dog is just so adorable that I wouldn’t be able to shut him out. Was his nose under the door trying to sniff you out?
Well, with all the comings and goings of a regular house, I am going to guess that with 3 kids, husband, dog, and hamsters bothering you, it was 19 times that they interfered with your concentration. LOL
Jennifer K. says:
How about 17?
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 7:39 pmBailey Stewart says:
Give away a book and they come out of the woodwork. :rotfl:
Posted on March 14th, 2007 at 7:41 pmKaren L. says:

Posted on March 15th, 2007 at 3:20 pmLaura says:

Posted on March 15th, 2007 at 4:54 pmKimW says:
I’m going to guess six times.
Posted on March 15th, 2007 at 6:00 pmButterflyLane says:
Let’s see. I have 2 kids, a husband and a cat, and I get interrupted roughly 7 times an hour, so… add a kid, subtract a cat- add a dog and hamsters- divide by three for the sign… um… carry the four… I’m going to say 17 times.
Posted on March 15th, 2007 at 6:46 pmButterflyLane says:
Oh, and Bailey’s right- even if I can’t think of a witty comment to leave I do stop by almost every day- but doggone it, contests just spark my commenting ability.
