One of those days …

November 3, 2005 | Filed under: Stuff

We’re babysitting a six week old kitten. Hula spends her day either napping, eating, or stinking up the house, though occasionally she’ll attack my slippers as I sit in the chair with my laptop.

But today she found something new. The full length mirror that is my closet door. I had been at work writing for a couple of hours, which really equated to me banging my head against a blank screen, when I noticed the kitty attacking her own reflection in the mirror.

I know just how she feels … Now if only I was a kitty and was banging my head against the mirror for fun instead of for the mortgage. :wall:

So tell me, what makes you feel like you’re banging your head against the wall?

  1. Laurie G says:

    RUDE PEOPLE!!
I hate it when people don’t/won’t respond when you say an innocent hi or ask a question.

  2. Laurie G says:

OOPS forgot…BAD DRIVERS who cut in front of you, ignore traffic signs, come really close to you when you’re walking or biking, give you obscene gestures, apply makeup at stoplights or pass you then go below the speed limit!

  3. Maureen says:

This is the second week of the teacher’s strike for our school district. At first I didn’t mind but now my kids are getting on my nerves.

  4. Judy F says:

People that have no clue about your job but feel the need to tell you how to do it.:wall:

  5. eve says:

Alzheimer’s. Really. When I’ve answered the same question 15 times in that many minutes and there’s nothing I can do about it.
My family who, when I tell them how mom would react to something don’t believe me and say “Well, we’ll do it anyway, she probably won’t notice.”:wall:
I had a cat years ago – when it was a kitten I was holding it the first time it saw itself in a mirror – I still have the scars.

  6. Sandy J says:

People who say one thing and do another! :wall:

  7. Laurie says:

My boss had me banging my head first thing this am – when I walk off the elevator to a client waiting outside our office door – to pick up the papers I was going to have ready for her. News to me. I sit down at my desk to a voice mail he left at 11 pm last night telling me she’s coming in first thing. I’ll probably be somebody’s girlfriend in jail very soon because I’m pretty sure I’m going to murder him. :fryingpan:

  8. MartyK says:

The non-turn-signal-using people. Last presidential election, I swore to support the candidate that vowed to increase the turn-signal usage ratio. Apparently, some cars do not come with such devices any longer…

  9. Melissa says:

    At the moment? Everything. :wall:

  10. Robyn says:

Unfriendly people in small towns; I’d rather live in a city where you understand why your neighbor might not want to be friendly and get to know you but in a small town where I’ve lived for 10 yrs. and have worked at several jobs out in the public and they still are not up to saying hi.:wall:

  11. Susan says:

People/medical personnel who talk about me to the people I’m with instead of to me. It’s as if just because I’m in a wheelchair I am not capable of understanding them or answering questions on my own.:fryingpan:

  12. Melissa Marsh says:

My kids and their senseless bickering. Over and over. I can’t STAND it.

Stepson leaving his towel in his room. Again and again.

Husband accumulating more and more junk for the Sandford and Son backyard.

  13. Mik says:

Sometimes my husband. Sometimes my kid. Sometimes the people I have to share the road with and sometimes the people I work with. Mostly, though, it’s my own frustration with my own lack of writing. :wall:

  14. jeanne says:

Basically, I’m with Melissa. Too many things to list:sad:

  15. kim H says:

having more time to read my books and getting some sleep:zzz:

  16. Christa Runge says:

    Bad Customer Service:wall:
Marty I think the signal is opional and people are opting for air instead. lol

  17. Jordan Summers says:

When a scene is just not working. LOL!

  18. Toni Anderson says:

Cleaning up mouse poop and trying to get published!!!!!

I remember my son rolling in front of the mirrored wardrobe when we lived in Brisbane–occupied him for ages–thank God!!

  19. Brandy says:

Where to start? How about…bad drivers, rude people, my kids fighting, my in-laws, and (last but not least) telling my Dh that yes we’ve been married for almost 13 years, that doesn’t mean that romance should be dead!:hissyfit:

  20. Glenice says:

Where to begin??? I agree way to many to list….

but I think my kids bickering is ultimately the most :wall:

    then rude people/drivers ARGH!!!!

    :blahblah::blahblah::blahblah:
I could go on but why???

  21. Crystal* says:

Hmmmmm. How many charcters will your reply box hold? *grins*

Children who don’t understand the word “NO” no matter how often or what decibel level they hear it at.
Cats who want to play when I want to sleep.
Having a thought and not being able to express it as clearly as I wish to.
Having ANY type of vehicle problem. Oh Lord.
People who think they are better than others and then act accordingly. Makes me want to snap them like a chicken bone.
    Grins*

  22. Sue says:

people who are rude at stores
people who don’t respond to me
    people who are bad drivers
I could go on and on but their not enough time

  23. Donna M says:

My #1 complaint is rude drivers that seem to think no one else is on the road. These people don’t use the turn signals (after all it is so hard to reach up there to that lever!), the lack of consideration for others.:wall: Don’t get me started!! Another thing that pushes my buttons is the lack of common sense, people don’t seem to have it & they certainly aren’t raising their children to have it! I hate to think what the world will be like in another 20-30 years when the children are adults. Thanks for a chance to vent.

  24. Loretta says:

the list would be much too long!!!
I guess the most :wall: for me would be people who see every one elses faults, and point them out :blahblah:, but never see that they may have faults of their own.
guess that means mean people…. have me :wall:
