Here I am!

A blog. Oh boy. The pressure! What will I say? Will anyone even care? I asked my husband about this and he asked me when was the last time I hadn’t had anything to say.
Um, good point. But not exactly the support I needed. I turned to my nearly fifteen year old daughter, who’s mentally going on thirty-five and wears far cooler clothes than I do, has better make-up, and knows everything. Just ask her. She said (with horror) “You’re going to have a blog? Like where people can read what you write? You’re not going to talk about me, right? Or my life? Or anything remotely resembling me and my life?”
Oh yeah, love and support from every corner.
My youngest daughter was no help either but for different reasons. At eight, she still loves me unconditionally. Even when I screw up and wear my pj’s to pick her up from school. Which, by the way, she asked me today not to do anymore.
And that brings me back to this blog thing. What does a person who works at home alone all day in bunny slippers, writing her novels, occasionally sneaking out to ski (okay more than occasionally) but mostly being alone day in and day out, really have to offer? Not too much. But then again, Seinfeld was about nothing. Friends was often about nothing. Maybe I can offer nothing and you’ll still come …? No, that’s too much to ask. I’ll have to think of something …

Barb, watching me to figure out what you’re doing is a bit like following me off a cliff.
Have you seen Alison Kent’s blog? Or Suzanne McMinn? Or Larissa Ione? THEY know what they’re doing.
